The two last episodes were the worst.. Where did Ki Jin go ? Was he in New York, but not with Yi Bin ? Did he even go anywhere at all ? Why didn't even tell Yeong Woo ? Why ghost him like that and dropping him ? What happened ? Why wasn't Yeong Woo mad at Ki Jin ? Ki Jin dropped him without a goodbye or explaination and supposedly left somewhere without telling him, then tehy meet by accident, Ki Jin doesn't even seem that sorry and they just laugh and joke and get back together ? How and why ? The writing is simply confusing.. It could have been good, but sadly it was just messy I'd say...
I am not sure if I missed scenes or anything but after finishing it, I'm definitely confused, that's the only thing I can say. This drama left me really confused. So many questions, very few answers.
Although I called the plot twists early on and nothing really surprised me, it was still a great movie. I cried, that always adds points for me. The acting was good and I always like dual timelines so it was a plus for me. The OST was really amazing and completed the movie really well.
This is my first movie of 2022 and what a beautiful way to start the year. I laughed and cried. The amount of emotions this movie can make the viewers feel is amazing ! It's definitely a must watch, The story is amazing, the OST is perfect, the acting as well, the dual timeline adds soooo much to the story. Just amazing !
I might be mistaken, but I thought the special episode aired like before the 9th or 10th episode ? Wasn't it ? The one were the actors are tallking to the camera and where we get a recap of the story ?
Gun imagery makes me uncomfortable, also shooting scenes even if in fantasizing? Like, why shooting? why guns?
It also made me uncomfortable and that's why I didn't like that episode. I got chills, the bad ones, but thinking back I think it was the point. I think (and that's my own personal analyse of it) it was meant to be disturbing and shocking. Because until then we saw Hira as a calm, quiet person who allowed anyone to step on him and never dared to stand up for himself. But suddenly, when the only person he truly cared about is hurt, he's able to do the most horrible things and could turn into a monster, his love was dangerous because it was obsessive. I don't think it was meant to be fantasizing (although I completely understand anyone who saw it that way) but on the opposite it was meant to show how unhealthy and disturbing his feelings were for Kiyoi at that time with a very shocking scene...
It was a very sweet drama, even though my favourite character ended up being Hashimoto. I liked how much she cared…
Sometimes I questionned Ida's motives. I couldn't understand why he wanted to try so much. Of course he was being nice and thought he was being thoughtful and respectful by doing that but I liked the way he realised that could actually be painful. I especially liked that episode with the teacher when Aoki talked about what happened and tries to play it down like it wasn't a big deal and Ida tells him the opposite, especially because I can only think about the way Aoki felt deep down and how hurt he must have been, in that scene, Ida's words validated Aoki's pain and I found it extremely important. Anyway, it was nice!
It was a very sweet drama, even though my favourite character ended up being Hashimoto. I liked how much she cared about people around her, especially her friends. I didn't really relate to anyone here but it was okay. I liked how it started and developped as I found the original misunderstanding to be quite funny and original. I'd recommend it for anyone who's looking for something sweet and light, without much drama and stress.
At first, I was struggling a bit with the movie, so much happened in the first 45 minutes that I found it too fast paced when what I love about Japanese movies is that they're usually slow paced. Although I expected the second part of the movie, and therefore was not surprised, I did like it and I raised my rating because the movie ended up making me cry a bit and that's always a good indicator for me. It was a good movie.
I watched it because I had just finished another drama and wanted something lighter with few episodes. I didn't really like it at all... I didn't like any of the characters that I found either childish, stupid or manipulative. Terada is supposed to be my age but oh wow, she does not seem 24, I found her quite annoying. The lack of communication from Hongyo (and how it's rarely ever discussed) is frustrating. The "marking" part ? These men really treated her like some object to claim ownership and even seemed to enjoy her lack of self-confidence, which I found really disturbing? I don't really know how I managed to watch it all but I ended up watching in 1.5 speed, which helped.
It was okay. It won't become my favourite Japanese teen romance movie but it was okay. It's a quite slow pace. I love slow burn BUT only when I can feel that feelings and affection are growing between the characters, which I didn't really feel, especially between Akari and Kazuomi. I personally preferred Rio and Yuna because I thought they were sweet (probably because I usually like characters like Yuna who are shy and quiet), but I felt like the movie ended up focusing more on the other couple so I didn't have to see much of them in the second half. I wouldn't recommend if you want a cute teen romance as there isn't much romance at all.

There's a few things I didn't really like, like the way Jin Sung left, I don't know why I found it extremely sudden, almost like they tried to get rid of that part of the story. I am not sure if I'm the only one but I don't think I actually got Ho-In's motives to threaten, scare and keep Ae-jin's secret, I'm still extremely confused, I don't think they got into enough details about that. To be fair, if I was Ae-Jin, I'd have been terrified of Ho-In way longer than she did, I felt like it was a bit out of character for her to become friend with him so fast and trust so quickly? Overall, I think a lot of things missed details and further explaination (or I'm just a slow person, that's possible too). Like Ho-In's past, or the way Ha-Neul et Ae-Jin never discussed the reason Ha-Neul so suddenly turned her back on Ae-Jin, or the bullying. The bullying is never truly discussed and denounced. These teens only looked for new preys, someone weak again to laugh at and there isn't one person that thinks about telling something or doing something, they just stand there, laugh and comment, it was very distrurbing. Same for the ending, although it was nice, I think I'd have liked to know what happened to Sae-hee and Mi-jin, because I can not believe Sae-hee can get out of throwing a cup of burning water at Mi-jin with no consequences. I'd have also loved to see all the characters get actual professional help, because I think they'll need it, all for different reasons, Sae-hee is actually pretty dangerous and I'd loved to have more details on what happens to her.
I started watching this drama by chance without knowing anything about the plot and story. I rarely do that as I like to know what to expect but it was a nice surprise. I haven't seen True Beauty (yet have read the webtoon) and it reminded me of it but in a more serious tone. None of these characters are perfect, they all make mistakes, some are truly evil though, although there were plot holes and things that should have been discussed further, I still enjoyed it!

Thank you very much ! (I'm sorry, strangely, I didn't receive any notification for your response). I didn't read the novel, sadly, but I absolutely loved the psychological, deeper side of their complexe relationship in the drama.
Just finished this drama. The acting was not that great to say the least. If I focus on the story only though. Like most people, I also enjoyed how it was centered on friendship. But damn I found the main friendship (Yuna/Nari) very toxic. I understand that Yuna struggles to express her feelings but she's overly pocessive to the point it becomes scary... She's also extremely mean and rude (why does she call Nari's other friend from middle school "ugly" and "loser" at their first meeting ???) She doesn't have to be overly kind, but the way she overly judged Seon Ji at first really threw me off. Overall, I didn't like Yuna that much...

I love how Kiyoi seemed to firstly be intrigued by Hira only because of Hira's admiration for him, because this is what Kiyoi THOUGHT he needed and wanted: admiration, attention and being idolised as he seemed to have grown up pretty invisible in his family. He wanted to be loved in a certain way and that's what Hira gave him. Yet, through months and years as his own feelings developped, he understood that it was not what he needed from Hira and that Hira's original feelings for him and the position of God/Worshipper or King/Servant they had actually prevented him from being with the person he loved. I loved that, the way Kiyoi realised that he didn't want Hira to love him as a deity but as a regular man, to not being idolised but seen as someone with flaws, because that's how they could achieve balance and equality in their relationship. That's why the finale was amazing to me, Kiyoi's confession was unique and beautiful and Hira's realisation that his idolisation had possibly hurt the person he loved and how oblivious he could have been (even though, to be fair, Kiyoi's signal were very contradictory: kissing than pushing him on the ground?). I think Kiyoi's confession is my favourite confession scene so far. It was a very beautiful drama that had a secret deeper meaning! Loved it.
I really liked this one. First of all, it had everything that I like in Japanese movies/drama cinematography, the colours, the lightening, etc. For the story, at first I was hesitant, I saw my younger self a lot in Hira and his quite obsessive love for Kiyoi (blindly loving someone who seemed despisable, no reason to love the person and the person using that love to their advantage) so at first I found it problematic. That's where the second part of the story (and especially Kiyoi's POV) gave answers.
Such a nice, refreshing drama. I loved it from beginning to end. It's very informative on several subjects, not only sex. I loved the way all three girls have different experience and desires, that was very realistic as I was part of a very similar friend group in High School, and still am to this day, 7 years later. I loved how the characters were flawed, they were sometimes ignorant and made mistake (like any teenager) but they always learnt from it, researched information to try and correct their ignorance and not make the same mistake again. I loved the development in both the teenagers and the adults, especially Sakura's mother. As a Pan person, I obviously loved the Bi/Pan representation present in here as it's not that common in Asian dramas, especially those targetted to teenagers. I think this drama is a must watch for teenagers. I would have loved to have this when I was 17, I would have learnt a lot, in a very relatabe way and told by characters my age and that would have disconstructed a lot of misconseptions I had as a teen. I highly recommend it!
Clearly, I was sad she was the only one of the three girls of the three stories who didn't have someone with a…
COMPLETELY AGREE. To be fair, I also didn't want her to end with Kang-joon for the same reason you gave. I kinda wanted the notes and gift to be given by someone we didn't know yet. Someone she didn't really notice but who would have a big crush on her, and she would get to know them slowly, someone really charming and kind and funny who deserved her and truly liked her, who would stand for her but mostly would teach her how to stand for herself too. I really, really hoped for something like that to happen. Just someone sweet and supportive for her...
Anyway, it was nice!
