If you ALSO mean Thai series have their own charm in their directing style, then let me tell you this. I love Thai drama in its own known for their vulgar (cant explain well much to this part but yes) and not so much conservative culture when it comes to jokes, I love their humor (putting sound effects to gag scenes), and you know that aside from Japan's Manga when it comes to Shounen ai or YAOI is that Thailand often produces series with lots of steamy scenes right? AND EVEN TOXICITY It's even like *almost a requirement to have a bed scene in every series. We were so excited because we are getting a "complete" and not censored Addicted adaption because we expect this from Thailand but what happaned? (dont get me wrong im not expecting to nc scenes only lol) Just like Chinese (not just in censored tv), Japanese, and Korean BL genre, Thai has also a unique flavor on its own. However, this version of Addicted is like an unripe flavor that lacks so many, it's not all about "Ah because it's Thai", again, Thai is good on its own, it's just this one feels so "unripe". It's like foods in different culture whether Asian or Western food, they're good, however this one was not well-cooked/seasoned.
Addicted was good to it's own, so as Stay With Me despite of the censorships, the script is very powerful on it's own. I am not expecting a 90% 1:1 adaptation of the Thai ones either, I was expecting a good Addicted Thai adaptation like how Not Me, I Told Sunset About You, and maybe Kinnporshce (subjective, it's good but ending was full of ??? to me) in a level of directing/scriptwriting, but this one failed us to deliver. That is why we have that "50%" percent of people disliking the series but hey for sure that "50%" have VALID criticisms. You like the series? Well then good for you, but doesn't mean we can't critic, even the higher rated ones have critics (but a reminder to differentiate a constructive criticism and just simply hating stuff).
Also for sure you have checked out Love Sick 2024, I know it's a very "teenager" marketed series but I can say that should be the standard of Thai BLs way of directing and writing script. Wonder how Addicted will turn out of Tia51 had their hands on it. Or even from Kinnporsche studio, just wondering. And oh, F4 Thailand is a good example of a "good remake" from foreign series.
This is even from the same director of What The Duck and War of Highschool, and yes, sadly, he failed to deliver another series again. Wish it could have been another director/studio.
I'm also rusty with my words but hope my message delivers to you, I don't want to start a fight either but clearly elaborate to you why this series gets dislikes, and yes I did not research about barcode stuff but they were just more of a side content and doesn't really have very 18+ scenes

you know that at least despite of their 11-year age gap is that they're both old right? might be 20s and 30s thing. Unlike this one it's literally someone who is not past 18 and almost of 30s. That is why I understand the frustration in here. The writing and pacing is not even that good so they deserve the criticism/hate and whatever

-has weird/low quality editing (overexaggerating use of BGMs and weird cuts) -rushed writing -not so good cinematography unlike other production companies that does better camera work/coloring and so on
it might be because they're dealing more quantity projects idk
Stay With Me and Addicted was good on it's own. I don't even need to compare them since they are good in their own. But I can't help myself not appreciating this series cause it's feel like a massive speedrun plus so many nerfed stuffs (Nerfed "Gu Hai", nerfed romantic scenes (is it because of the age gap stuff?, they nerfed the dramatic ones like Poppy's dad and aunt marriage, even the robbing scene, and so many more).
The pairing choices are bad, like why pair August and Mac, please don't get me wrong I don't dislike one or both of them. I'd love for August to have a BL series but he is not suitable for this one, or maybe Mac being paired to at least 18 year-old or should have casted him for something like Love Sick.
The only thing I like here is the OST (including the background music used in the series, I think it's own composed and not just purchasing license from existing BGMs) . It's promising, then the side couples, and the advertising of merches.
Sorry to hear this fans, and I don't intend to attack the series and I'm just citing my critics even though it's not that much constructive. But there is one thing I hate, and that is
