This history is extremely complex to understand. There are not enough Korean resources, translated into English.…
Thank you so much for suggesting all these resources to me !!! I am going to look all of these up. I think my main question lies in why SK had numerous dictatorships if the USA claimed to have helped the country against NK ? Was NK even the main real threat ?
Can anyone who has insight into Korean history, explain the gwangju uprising to me or perhaps send me a reliable link where I can read up on it ?
From what I can gather with my basic knowledge of history - it relates to the cold war and the whole uproar of fighting against communism with the USAs involvement somehow. What I do not understand is why all of a sudden this hatred for North Koreans by South Koreans who were originally all just Koreans before they were forcefully split ??? I am mainly asking how did they get the South Koreans to all of a sudden hate NKs ???? (was the propaganda that good???)
Ok I must say Soo Ryon is slowly growing on me, I just hope nothing happens to her brother as he has been so sweet so far and caring for everyone around him :( The tone of the drama has definitely changed (I can feel it and I am now preparing to be sad throughout).
Spot on review !!! Can we also talk about how the decision to pass the bill didn't make a whole lot of sense when Yo Han also has the "psychopathic gene" yet was still a "good person", I also felt the ending was so rushed in order to tie so many things up. I still enjoyed the show but I was just frustrated with how things started to not add up.
I really hope Myeong Hee gets a happy ending here, I don't care about anyone else besides her and her family at this point. Soo Ryun and Hee Tae must leave my girl alone because all she really wants to do is study medicine and be happy once for Gods sake.
WHAT THE ACTUAL F***, Lee Soo Chan is literally defending Myeong Hee better that her own supposed "best friend". At this point I am just disgusted with Lee Soo Ryun and Hee Taes dad.
I guess I'm in the minority here not hating Soo Ryung, yeah kinda sucked she asked her friend to persuade the…
I understand this to an extent but hear me out on this one - I also hate it when SFL are portrayed as villains (especially those stereotypical "evil SFL" who compete just for a man). I always try to look at the bigger picture when the writers attempt to do this and stray from the real villain but the issue here with Soo Ryeon is that she clearly thinks of herself as this righteous "for the people" type of person when in fact at the end of the day if something does not align with her interests and needs, she immediately discards it, does not give it a second thought and never truly faces consequences either if I may add. We are all very aware that Hee Taes dad is the worst villain here but at least with him he doesn't act like he is some good righteous man.
