It feels too simplistic to say that Alisa and Padmika are evil…they are women in a culture that simply couldn’t accept women loving each other in a committed relationship. The are getting there though.
I think dad is going to come around as he loves his daughter so. Loved, loved this episode! Should have known the car crash was a nightmare of Pin’s. Aunt Patt has realized how wrong she was.
i hate Anin's mom as well. It irritated me so much aunt Pat and her asking Pin about the wedding with smiling…
Padmika like Pin is stuck in the culture of the time. I truly think she thinks she’s doing her best for Pin, but she’s also beholden to the royal family above her. What they think and pleasing them is more important than Pin’s happiness. Which is awful but all her life she’s been a glorified servant. Ditto for Pin.
I love this show however I am not happy about the car accident we’ve glimpsed in the episode 15 preview. It’s an overused trope to add drama. Anin being in jeopardy will make mom and dad and Aunty realize her happiness matters more than anything. That’s my guess. Pin looked very unhappy at her wedding but gorgeous. Kua being shown to be a total selfish ass is very satisfying!
Fabric was in the last episode too- Anin and Pin worked together on that intricate loom. The last scene with the fabric dialogue was so well acted. Love or hate the Aunt, but great acting by Charm. I loved this episode!
from reading the novel aunt Patt doesnt have a problem with Pin dating another woman, her issue lied in the fact…
I feel like Princess Pad has several reasons for being so against Pin and Anin. Her heartbreak has made her afraid. She’s also traditional and would be against Pin reaching over her station. She is also quite closeted and so homophobia does play a part. She is complicated. I only hope she sees Kua for who he really is. I also hope she supports Pin and Anin eventually.
Princess is beautiful and has a very sad past. She’s also very closed off. That is why she’s going to push Pin to marry. She’s afraid for her. Not diabolical, but she will hurt Pin and Anin. Anan is a terrific, supportive brother. Aon is diabolical!!!
Anon is possessive but I think he’s going to be supportive after awhile because he does love Anin and wants her to be happy. The younger brother Arnon talks about marriage more.
The show is set in 1952 so of course marriage pressure is there for both Anin and Pin. I fear that Princess Patt will force Pin into an engagement for reasons of her own. Anin will resist. We’ll see what happens.
Episode 4 is really good. Wan loves Pleng so very much. She even rides a bike to work ala Meg Ryan in the Angels movie. Pleng is a little dense but will catch on next episode.
