I think so too. I don't think it's fair to judge when a person is ready. Anda may be taking it seriously and wants to be sure. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, and I don't think it's a gendered response. Also, I would be 100% embarrassed if even my same sex sibling caught me half naked with someone and I'm not an innocent virgin.

I did not start watch this yet because I've read the book, but I'm super disappointed to hear this. Maybe all of the complaining from fans who complain about fem gays being "stereotypical" or "comedic fodder" made them erase this type of gay man altogether. Some of the characters are camp, but not all. Nadia was the voice of reason in the book, and yes, funny. I forgot that some fans only want masculine, gym bodied, straight passing gay men in a series! Talk about homophobia. Sorry to rant on your thread but I love Nadia in the book.

Does the series move as slowly as the book? I don't know if I can take 10 episodes of the Por arc.

I read the manga and I really like this series. They changed some things, and the thing I dislike the most is that Jet (Rei) is not a megane! A good change is, Ryo isn't as aggressive as Ryoma, so they toned down the chase quite a bit. It works in the manga, but in live action, it wouldn't play out that well. Also, Jet is not hung up on the dad, but he isn't a tsundere either. Turbo does a good job acting like Izumi, stubborn and determined to do things that he wants. I didn't like the Japanese live action, but I like this very much. Many people hate the manga and anime, so they hate this version too. I think that some people do not like the brocon that is often in Japanese manga, and that remains in the series.

I agree, but people fight over a drunken kiss on other boards, so I'm pretty sure the crusaders will be here, and continue to watch, week after week. Then they will gather here to grandstand week after week, using hyperbole and self-righteousness to prove their point.

Many people today are self-righteous, and elitist, looking down their noses, accusing people of condoning real life SA if they watch some of these shows. Meanwhile, many of the same people continue to consume these series, or shows such as Squid Games or GoT. They will berate people for "slut shaming, " while kink shaming others. Some are also guilty of SA by their own "definition", if they ever kissed a child, or an adult with dementia or/and cognitive disability, since those individuals cannot consent. I'm sure if I knew them in real life, I would catch them engaging in racist, homophobic, body-shaming, bullying and just being judgmental words/actions in general. How do I know this? I know people who think their crap don't stink, doing it. I will call them out when they do, and vice versa. I'm not perfect, and neither are my associates, but they are still good people, and we are all trying to do better.

This book has terrible SA, non-con, dub-con, etc. If the series follows the book, I hope that the brigade sees the warnings (check the discussion area) and doesn't flood the boards. I'm not condoning SA, nor is it my kink, but I feel that these boards are can be very judgmental and elitist in their kink shaming. Obviously some people enjoy this type of content, and they know fiction from real life. I may not even watch this series until it is over due to the heaviness, but I also will not be judgmental toward people who enjoy this type of FICTION. The BL world used to accept that people have different kinks, and the manga and DJs reflect this. I think that other populations came to the BL community and started trying to drown out voices they don't like. Just my opinion.

I ordered it a couple of days ago, but I haven't finished it yet. I'm glad they are starting to publish these novels in English.

I really like how Turbo is catching the essence of the manga's Izumi. Growing up in an entertainment family, trying to find his own way, being a little stubborn and childish at times. I'm really enjoying this adaptation more than the Japanese live action movie.
