Not really.... I'm not sure what ep you are on...but they don't show any progression until the end. I'm on ep 30 and it was late in ep 30 there was this something.
Most of the ep was him revisiting a past...

Some ep...she has 5-10 min screen time...and she brings them background info...that is all...no real interactions
I don't see these crazy romance these ppl are talking about....there is maybe 7 scene total in a total 30 eps that it was a clear... I'm starting to catch feelings.

The writer got lazy all around....
It probably seems so because the flow disconnect between scenes
For me it is rushed in the last scene. ...if it was a time jump it would work better
The romance is ok to me...it add to the character n distract from there bad crime ...

Dialogue and crime cases is the issues...along with not having a consistent interactions between the actors
So making B.L. will get the BL chaser happy. And that is the craze now so that probably help....since the crime suck
