I think it's a cultural difference. Its common in China for girls around that age to act cute, and honestly, I find her adorable because her cuteness is so natural. Also, just because she is in a foreign country doesn't mean she has to be brave. Many people might feel uncertain and confused because they are in an unfamiliar environment. Not only that, but it's her first time feeling attracted to someone, so of course she is going to act awkward. I personally don't find anything wrong with her character.

His character in the novel is an introvert who doesn't know how to express himself. He is insecure because he said some harsh things in the past that has hurt people's feelings. That is why he is being careful and akward towards the fl, because he doesn't know how to express his feelings properly. Wu lei is doing a great job protraying this character, the directer said that both leads bought their characters to life.

Honestly, when I was watching the drama I found it boring when lyy kept on taking yg out to eat meals. But when he started talking about how poor he was in the past and how precious food was, my heart melted. He wants to treat her the best way he possibly can, and that is by treating her to the most delicious food. He is such a green flag and the best boyfriend material.
