yea I feel the same way, she's way too compassionate for other people more than her own husband, it's kinda off…
I like that about her, she wants to help others out. I think when she meets the grandson is when she realises how unfair the world is. The poor mortals suffer and the gods do nothing to help them. I think this sets up her charecterisation of using her powers to help those in need instead on focusing on cultivation. I remember in the previous eps, the gods hated siling because she stole things, maybe she did it to help the mortals.
Awh yi wan san really cares about ping ting. Not sure if I ship them because ping ting does act like a child, even though she isn't one. Kinda reminds me of an older brother who dotes on their sister vibes.
You can never trust cdrama endings. This drama is original script, so we have no idea how the drama will end. The last original script drama I watched resulted in everyone dying (ajtl). But even if a drama is based on a novel and has a happy ending, they can always change that to a bad ending (tdhr). Or a drama can say they have a happy ending since the main couple survives, but all the side characters dies (mm), personally that is not a happy ending to me. Anyway yuzheng said this is a happy ending, but I have no idea what his definition of happy ending is. Hopefully main couple + important side characters survive.
