For me, it gets better. The story is complicated enough that you will be pushed to think and make your own theories. I'm currently watching Part 2 and I cant even predict how this is going to end. What I liked the most is that this gives me a dose of laughter every now and then, especially Danggu and the Crown Prince. The CP's scenes are even funnier in Part 2.
I picked this up as I'm also a fan of crime/thriller/mystery series. Since this had season 2, I thought season 1 must be so good to warrant a sequel. But for some reason, I cant immerse into the story. It felt so slow... some of the scenes are nonsensical and I blame the director for that. I only finished this just for the sake of finishing it and find out who killed who. Everything in between was blah. I wasnt thrilled at all. I normally finish a crime series for 2 to 3 days. For this, it took me about three weeks.
Maybe I was looking for a variety of cases. Maybe I already watched other good crime series that I already find this sub par for me. Not really sure why I didnt enjoy this.

This poses the problem - starting from Jang Gang, Uk's biological father.
