This ia a rough topic and one that is addressed a lot in j dramas. After reading the previous comments though I would add, be aware of your schools demographic. The high school my son went to, I would never give him advice to fight back, because a lot of the kids are part of their parents gangs. Yes you read that right. I don't live in a bad neighborhood, this is just how it is, they are considering metal detectors and clear back pack and have already removed all lockers. Houses costs 200-300k and we still have to worry about gang tagging and juvenile stabbings......so glad he's out of school.

The love triangle is a corner piece to this story as this is how the FL sorts out her feelings for the Immature, aggressive, but squishy inside ML the ML growth from the beginning to the end is just tremendous.
The female lead has to show the resiliance of a weed (he name means weed)
and the always cheerful attitude despite what get thrown at her.

I would recommend the HYD 1996 movie for a speed watch of the story, not the best telling but it is only a movie and not a drawn out drama.

I have been posting on my journey of watching MG18 on the forums and have written an article on my take of the previous version or adaptations. (so glad to find more people who at least try to watch the other versions.)

Domiyogi and Makino will always be my favorite but this Dao Ming Si and Dong Shancai have for me come the closest.
