I have not watched/read the original anime/manga so these comments are based solely on this adaptation. It was excellent... all killer, no filler. Story was strong, cast/acting was great and the duration was perfect. I'm all in for a second season. Heidi for the win!

Fun watch. It took me a few episodes to really get into this series but once I did, it was great. Storylines were good, acting was great and it wasn't bogged down with romantic cliches... straight up fun. Characters developed over time with believable relationships forming. Sign me up for season two. Jin Isoo Good Luck!

On Romance Is a Bonus Book Apr 14, 2024
Definitely a stress-free drama with good acting and a decent OST. Lee Na-young was excellent and her character was well written. Some of the other characters became annoying but perhaps that's just my personal taste. It wasn't 'all killer, no filler' but I enjoyed the watch.

Enjoyable watch. Acting was excellent and the storyline was comforting. I wish Lee Na-young was in more current series as well, she's a great actor.

On When the Camellia Blooms Apr 2, 2024
This was fine, nothing exceptional with a few twists along the way. Acting was okay although I found some of the characters whiney which manifested into annoyance over the course of the series. Didn't find much emotional chemistry between the leads as the female lead was distant most of the time.

I really enjoy the whole Diner series and will rewatch episodes from time to time. It's like an old friend that comes to visit and catch up... very comforting.

Solid, solid, solid! This was a very interesting and entertaining watch... triggered a range of emotions and dealt with some pretty uncomfortable situations. Acting was stellar and the storyline was intriguing. I'd consider this a complex watch and it took me a month to get through it. The character of Goo Ryeon was very well written and superbly brought to life by Kim Hee-sun. I'm all in for a second season.

Finished this last night and I was going to drop it after the 4th episode. I'm glad I stuck with it... it became a much more intriguing and interesting story after that. Acting was decent and the bromance was better than the romance. Ending did tie up loose ends but I think opportunities were missed with the various closures. Not a rewatch for me... but a fun watch nonetheless!

I had high hopes for this one and eagerly awaited the weekly episodes drop. However, for the last few weeks I became indifferent... so much so that I'm just finishing it up now. Wanted to like it more than I did. It's not a bad watch but it's really nothing special. Acting was fine although a bit over the top sometimes. Story was hit and miss [I did fast forward through the last few episodes] and it just lacked something... perhaps excitement or connection.

If you are looking for a literal adaptation of the novel, you will be sorely disappointed. However, if you are okay with a "loose at best" adaptation then this could be for you. I enjoyed the story + acting, found myself really hating the villain[s] as well as being excited to watch the next episode. Perfect? No, but a very decent watch.

People, people, people... this is a adaptation of a webtoon that revolves around a chicken nugget. Take it for what it is, have fun and enjoy the ride!

I've watched 2 episodes and really like it but do they really have to play that awful song every episode? "Whereee…
Agreed. I commented something similar a few months ago: "the ost was good but even cake for every meal gets tiresome... would have appreciated a little more variety / less repetition." It's too bad you eventually dropped the series, it was very good. Just a forewarning, if you disliked the music repetition here you're gonna really hate Something in the Rain.

This was okay. I understand that you can't go deep into all the storylines but it would have been a better watch if they dug a little deeper. Really enjoyed Choi Sung-eun's performance, her character portrayal was the highlight of the movie. Overall, entertaining but not a classic.

Finished this yesterday as it moved up my "to watch" queue after enjoying Choi Sung-eun's performance in My Name is Loh Kiwan. Overall, this was a fun watch... something different with an interesting story + decent acting. Glad that it was 6 episodes, that felt about right. The musical numbers were hit and miss but more on positive side of the equation. Several events were left to your imagination which is always a fun thing [imo]. Ending musical number put a smile on my face.

Enjoyable movie, good acting, interesting story and atmospheric cinematography. I live in an area that saw a lot of immigration from Korea and can understand how this could play out. Worth the watch.

On Strong Girl Nam Soon Mar 2, 2024
I couldn't take this anymore and dropped it after the sixth episode. It looked to have everything I like but it went so so so wrong. The acting [for me] was fine, the initial setup was fun but it just didn't carry through. For the last two episodes [5&6 in context] there was lots happening but I was bored. As the storyline went away from Nam-soon I just lost interest. Kim Jung-eun is beautiful but closeups every 5 minutes of her staring into the camera gets tiresome fast. Hopefully I'll see all these actors in something better soon.

Normally I take the reviews and comments here with a grain of salt but most of these were dead on. You may like it so give it a go and make up your own mind. However, consider this fair warning.

UPDATE: My wife continued along with this so I joined her in this journey... misery loves company I guess. Perhaps it's the Stockholm Syndrome talking but it did get better around episode 14.

i finished this last week and didn't want to comment until i slept on it a few times. this was fine, not great, not bad. some of the scenes were hard to watch but were needed as they added to the character's back stories. wouldn't rewatch but was entertained.
