The FL in the 2008 version was utterly unbearable. She cries in every scene. If the 2FL (and horrible villain) asked her to do it, this version's Beeachat would gouge out her own eyes. (Sorry. That was graphic. But this is not an exaggeration of the degree to which she is a doormat.)
In the 1999 and 2008 versions, the FL is physically beaten by the 2FL multiple times. The FL takes the abuse with no resistance. None. It's genuinely unpleasant to watch.
In all versions of Ngao Asoke, the theme of "gratitude" is ridden to death. It's the set up for why Beeachat tolerates this incredible abuse: without being cared for by this wretched family, she might have become a prostitute to survive (the irony that she is adopted as a child by this family to become the master's eventual mistress is a stomach turning detail we'll just let slide.)
There've been a few other lakorns that have pissed me right off for the abuse the FL is subjected to--I mean, I've watched Sawan Biang a few times--but none have pissed me off quite as badly as Ngao Asoke. Watch all three versions. When you're finished, you'll be wondering why this dreadful story was made 3 times.
I disagree with your conclusions, but you wrote a good, thorough article, which is just unfortunately about the drama I hate with the fire of 3 suns.
My goodness, there are a lot of flashbacks. It's like every episode so far, they take flashbacks--the same ones, too--and just stitch a set together in a different order. This show will 97 1/2 episodes long at this rate, and we still won't know what the hell is happening. (I'll have more complaints. You'll see.)
This drama is an entire mood. I'm not entirely sure I know what the heck is going on--the second episode was pretty fluid in terms of timeline and characters. But when these two actors are on the screen, you can't look at anything else, because they are fire. This is going to be one of those shows where you hold your breath while you wait for the next week's episodes. So far, this is so much better than I'd hoped. I hope it keeps that edge.
Good god, the FL's character is a dunce Why does she fall down so much? Its only episode 10, and she's already twisted her ankle 4 times. Also, she's carrying 4 or 5 boxes of products in the pouring rain, and she stops to answer her phone, apparently okay with dropping everything she's carrying to the ground to do it. She is literally too dumb to get out of the rain, but she's a manager in the company she works for. Ooookay, if you say so, brilliant writer people.
I'm going to be doing a lot more complaining, I just know it, if I watch this drama to the end.
This FL's acting is . . . not good? She's either acting over the top (that drunken hotel room scene is cover your eyes/mute the sound bad) or she's stiff and wooden. This not her first show either, so it's no use hoping she improves. I like the story, though. I hope I can make it all the way, but I cringe so hard when she's on the screen, I'm getting shoulder spasms.

This is the type of fight that you don't win. People are frequently misguided, misinformed or just plain wrong. Sometimes, they're wrong and also mean, but after you've stated what you think is factually true, what more can you do except leave them to their fantasies?
The actress playing Mona is facing discrimination from viewers 🙁🙁🙁https://www.instagram.com/p/CV14xjKL79g/…
Racism is prevalent all over the world, so expecting Thailand to be any different is pretty unrealistic; people who assert that [all] Thais don't see race are just engaging in wishful thinking.
I'm still extremely disappointed to read this, though.
The reasons for having laws in place to prevent sexual relationships between close relations is purely to ensure…
It's fine, but it's hard enough to blend step families without the extra pressure of having a sexual relationship between step siblings, especially if the siblings are minors.

Gosh.
It's a show. Let people have opinions that disagree with yours.
I mean, I'm not saying it's bad or anything.
No--wait. I am. I'm saying it's the worst "French" I've ever heard.
