Oh I think it's the way his character is written but also he is known as a flawless demon (he doesn't have to do too much)/ after he lost his powers it is hard for him to adjust as a human being. You know it not really about his age but how he has to survive during these years because as the story shows a glimpse of his past live he looks like a carefree /clumsy person before he became a demon.
