i mean, Healer was an action drama first and foremost. Maybe not as much as K2, but still. And yes, I agree that Healer and Suspicious Partners both had great romances as well but that's pretty much it when it comes to JCW's great romance based roles. I don't even want to see the guy in a rom com, he's more mature and serious for that imo and that's okay! I feel the same about some other actors too, where I can't imagine them doing kdrama-high-school romance scripts and instead imagine better, more drama/action based roles for them. Eg Hyun Bin.
Honestly, he picks great action roles and terrible romance roles and then gets upset when his action roles get recognition and he feels stereotyped. That's how I feel at least, Samdal-ri was a truly unfortunate choice even though the actors did a great job. JCW needs good roles period, whether or not they involve some butt-kicking is not important.
