This movie is gripping, dark, beautiful. It's sad but at the same time it's hopeful and has a happy ending according to me. Great performance by all the actors, Uhm Tae Goo played the perfect unbreakable yet broken gangster, and my beloved Jeon Yeo Been's character had such an immense depth to it. She was always ready to go all in, guns blazing and yet had an unmistakable vulnerability which drew UTG's character to her, who is a natural protector. Both these characters, despite the state of their lives, somehow, somewhere, did want to keep on living, maybe even happily, which was a stark contrast to their words and their actions in the movie, and that was really interesting to watch.
this movie was absolutely HILARIOUS. In many unforgettable scenes, like the one with the gorilla in the convenience store, and the sloth staring down the ex-boyfriend (who btw plays the biggest douchebag EVER), I laughed like crazy because they were just SO FUNNY. It was also a reunion for Jeon Yeo Been and Ahn Jae Hong (after Be Melodramatic). The movie was a bit stretched out but the concept was unique and hilarious.
"Tomorrow, people will ask you why I died, so make sure to tell them." WOW. This movie left me in PAIN. It is raw, intense, gritty, and exposes the incredibly selfish and impulsive side of humans. Also Jeon Yeo Been! Her RANGE is just phenomenal. The relentless bullying, the detached attitude of the police, the unwillingness of the mother to believe that her child could be anything but perfect, the school administration system's attitude towards a student who expresses a genuine desire to not live was shocking and just unbelievably painful to watch. YET I couldn't stop watching the movie, it was devastating and gripping.
He was such a great character in Vincenzo, just stunning chemistry with every one in the show! BUT Confession has to be his best work till date, that show was bloody AMAZING.
Ga On made me pause the drama for awhile, his character was so irritating, he messed everything up.And I know…
Honestly, with how she behaved towards KYH regarding the fire, I genuinely don't think she could've been redeemed but she definitely did love KYH is her own way.
I feel sorry for Kim Byung In. I think he is a good charachter.
I loved him! His love for the Queen was unchanging till the very end and he was so intense and determined and consistent in his love, it was nice to watch.
WHAT A GREAT SHOW! Loved the ending too, it was perfect! However the story would've been great in a 16 episode format. The episodes were perfect till about 14, afterwards it dragged till 20.
Our Queen Shin Hae Sun was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND INCREDIBLE. Her mannerisms, her acting, her reactions, her voice, her humour, her aura, everything was perfect! She made the role iconic in every way possible. Her iconic dancing scene alone was worth watching the whole drama, to be very honest.
Our King, Kim Jung Hyun, I've already seen him in two shows (CLOY, and School 2017) and he was brilliant as always. He was the perfect balance of dumb yet mysterious. I didn't like the arc where he was kinda involved with two women at once, and tbh I got the romantic angle but it did make me very uncomfortable that our straight male lead had to be physically and romantically involved with the King butttt but the actual leads looked so cute together! (I wish I could've enjoyed it as a gay/bromance type thing but I just couldn't).
Also I LOVED Kim Byung In AND Hong Byul Gam SO MUCH. Kim Byung In was SO SEXY in his relentless love for the Queen, and he was steadfast and determined and didn't change his feelings till the very end! Hong Byul Gam was SO DAMN HOT whenever he had any action scenes, and he had a confidence in the show which was damn SEXY. Also he really reminds me of Oh Jung Se.
Also the Court Lady Choi, she was hilarious. Her arc with the Royal Chef was funny as hell.
The villain arc in the show could have been better, but I LOVED watching Kim Jwa Geun as the 'real power behind the Kim clan'. The other villains were forgettable lol.
Overall the show was fresh, thoughtful, all the characters had GREAT comedic timing, and the show was overall a delight to watch.
This drama just like all Ji Sung's dramas, proves what a great actor he is. His really great at choosing dramas…
I agree with your assessment 100%, many times it did feel like we were watching the drama from Ga On's point of view, because our trust on KYH changes with Ga On's trust on KYH, the portrayal of their dynamic was SO appealing to watch. Despite Ga On being very fickle at times, he was a delight to watch with KYH.
