Just heard season 2 might be in the works soon but with a different cast. I am so disappointed with this decision. I did not wait 7 years just to have a different cast. I'm sure they'll be great but no drama is the same without the originals.

I just want to say June and July are hot hot hot months. All my boyfriends are slowly coming out. Wang Xing Yue, Luo Yunxi, Zhang Linghe and then July is Tan Jianci.
My favorite scene in any drama is when someone calls out the names of those killed wrongfully. Ruyi's Palace and Nirvana in Fire had powerful scenes like this and I always go back to watch.
Jiangli calling out those Longwu soldier names might be my all time favorite scene of the entire drama. Such a short but emotional scene. Never forgetting the names of those who cannot seek justice for themselves.

Yes! It was the most wild writing ever. Xiao Heng against the whole Dai army. Made no sense. And then they skipped forward to the last scene with Jiangli in red. Definitely could have gone a different route without killing both Lu Ji and Wen Ji.
I don't hate Jiangli's father as much as I should. So I didn't eagerly wait for any crazy torture punishment. But I think him living the rest of his life knowing his daughter died because of his neglect is possibly the worst form of punishment for him.
And I wish Ruoyao would have at least apologized to Jiangli once in the drama.
But overall I loved this drama even though I cried more times then I wanted to. Huge shout out to all the cast members for their hard work.
I'm ready for next month. But I'm also not ready. I love the thought of finally finishing the drama but I hate the thought of losing Fang Fengbei and then Xiang Liu. If being heartbroken once isn't enough, I'll be heartbroken twice 😭 I love Xiang Liu but Fengbei has a special place in my heart.
So glad Tan Jianci played XL. He really brought XL to life.
