Joy of Life is one of my top 3 loves, following Untamed and Word of Honor! Zhang Ruo Yun is just *chefs kiss*!!
Liu Xue Yi in 'Qing Luo' - wasn't too bad. Not super fluffy, but still a pretty fun, social and mischieviously flirty bastard.
Also Zhang BinBin and Austin Lin in 'I Will Never Let You Go!' are both sweet, fluffy, easy going flirty sweeties. Tho again they also have lots of serious moments. After watching ZBB as the angsty, tortured, doomed lover in a few series, it was nice to see him play such a different role this time.
I'll also add Guo Jun Chen as Mu Jue Chen from 'Su Yu'. His character is such an entitled, ridiculous, oblivious, narcissistic twit, and yet it's really hard to hate him, as under all that self importance is a decent person.
I can't lie, I came for Zhang BinBin and ...still stayed for ZBB, but Austin Lin made it reeeeal hard. I hate a good bad guy I have to sympathise and empathise with, and Lin did really well in this. As far as I'm concerned, this series was perfect for a polybomb. #WhyNotBoth.gif! I also really enjoyed it, far more than I was expecting given the comments. There is a happy ending, you just have to suffer through nearly everyone else dying and wait until the very last minute...
So I am currently watching this but I don't get WHY do they have a female actress play a male role?? I mean have…
Oddly enough, once MRF was dressed as a woman, I kept then thinking they looked more like a man dressed as a woman at that point... I just figured the actress to be happy on the nonbinary/genderqueer spectrum. They're pretty damn cool either way.
Wait so who is hua buqi's father? What is her actual parentage?
HBQ's father is Mo Baixing - Mo Ruo Fei's father. Whole reason why MRF's mother kept trying to kill HBQ. After the Zhu family found her again, they spread the rumour she was actually her uncles (Zhu Hua / Uncle Jiu) daughter and not Xue Fei's, to try to put Xiao Jiu Feng off her scent and avoid the marriage contract.
It's a happy ending though, roughly done and disrespectful to our much loved supporting characters.
Not sure why, but so many CDrama's really seem to have an issue with providing a satisfactory happy ending...or even just a satisfying non happy ending. This wasn't the worst, but...it could have been better, compared to the rest of the entire damn show. Felt like an afterthought.
Finished! I feel like there were like 6 different plots going on in this drama as Fuyao & Wuji go on MANY crazy…
Ethan deserves some kind of recognition for the amount of *feels* he bought in the last 6 or so eps. If this had been a hollywierd show, he shouldn't been up for an oscar for that acting. But yes, the entire cast were fucking fantastic, even the villians you hated.
You're not being brutally honest. You're just being an arsehole. I like most of these drama's and watched them happily. I understand other people may not like them, and that's cool. But going around insulting people for their own choices is really telling on the kind of person *you* are. Not to mention, liking or disliking a particular series/actor is *never* going to replace having an actual personality.
I'm into the more subtle romance so it works out for me. My problem is with the secondary couples. I cannot stand…
This is giving me vague Bloody Romance vibes, in that ppl keep making stupid obsessive mistakes because their brains have apparently completely rotted. 2nd couple I'm looking right at you esp. FL also keeps jumping to the *wrong* conclusion at the drop of a hat. I keep trying to finish this, but it's starting to feel like a punishment, not a reward. These actors deserve better...-.-
Australian Viki access just disappeared, so I tried the China Zone - English...didn't realise it was *dubbed not subbed* aaaannnndddd ... I'm not gonna lie, that was the most skin cringing sound I've ever heard. The subtitled version is under the non english China Zone...Trying to listen to dubs more than halfway through a series is just ....ew, ew, ew, ew, EW!
..Am I the only one who wants the damn recipes for all the amazing looking dishes they keep serving out, and lingering over the descriptions of? It's like a detective show written by a frustrated chef! Or a serious foodie... :D
This is a nice, light and fluffy romance. There's a little bit of the drama mandated angst, but for the most part its a pretty upbeat, and not overly complicated story. The leads are sweet, the secondaries are possibly sweeter, and I love the role reversal there. The ending is fairly satisfying, and wrapped up well, if maybe a little drawn out. All in all, its very watchable, if you need a break from all the heavy, super angsty dramas.
"I want to preserve our cultural heritage!" *goes in a destroys most of the actual relics in favour of a few shiny trinkets.... Makes me wonder if the writers did their research by playing the Tomb Raider video games. I'm seriously struggling with the level of dumb in this series...
The title of the soundtrack is "Grave of Infatuation", it can also be known as "Tomb of Infatuation" sang by Deng…
Oh god yes please! I've looked through Spotify and Apple and even under the composers name - Kenji Kawai, and I can't find it. Esp the track with those amazing Japanese vocals that reminds me of old school Akira tracks.
This show started off with so much potential... Chinese Harry Potter, but good! Great characters, interesting world building..
But I've just the mid 30's and man are these eps starting to drag. I think when the Black Dragon died, he took everyone's higher brain functions with him...
The good characters all got lobotomies, the bad guys are the only ones who know how to fight, and I also think they fired their fight coordinator, cause now fights mostly consist of hand waving and not doing anything meaningful. Characters keep making the same stupid mistakes and wondering why they all loose. The difference between the first 25 or so eps and now, make me wonder if some clueless Exec handed down a "decision" that broke the show...
The directors the same, the screenwriters the same....Why does this season drag so much?I flew through S1, but…
I'm only up to ep 18...and I'm fast forwarding through so much....and it's still *so* slow!!! I'd really like the option to watch on a faster speed on this app. Normally I use 1.5 on slow eps on Netflix, but I could see using 2x or even 4x speed on this show.
