In Gone with the Rain, the actress Liu Mei Tong played a male character called Wu Yin and she looked male and also androgynous. As a male, she looks like some other male actors. So it can be done but you need a more androgynous actor/actress with the right padding and makeup. It's just that most actresses that cross-dress as males seem to have makeup with lashes done and eye liner blush, gloss etc instead of super toned down LOL
8episodes in and still not entertaining, the flashbacks aint giving me much emotion just talk about stepmother…
I noticed the youngest actor had clear signs of a disability then the teenager version had minimal and inconsistent and now the adult seems fine at times and then out of pocket but never consistent. I can't even tell what disability he's supposed to have and no one seems to know.
I think the writers are writing for sh*ts and giggles because people being enraged = engagement on the MBC discussion forums and Knetz going bonkers on SNS

If this isn't a contract marriage, is the writer going to expect us to think this will be a sexless marriage and Wang is going to be an innocent man that doesn't drug his wife and r's her in her sleep? Because the evidence that SeRan cheated with her ex and was pregnant is very not there LOL since you know SeRan will keep JDJ's ex on a leash, I guess she must have found something in those 2 years and actually kept her mouth shut to the villains for that long! Quelle surprise! JDJ can keep her mouth shut, which we know since she and her dad were the Keep It All Secret Syndrome with each other except for the villains to whom they would run their mouths to) where they pretend to be a couple (weird) but I guess we can continue with the drama since there are worse plots in other dramas LOL

Looking back at the end, I agree. Shen Yao had more of a connection to Li Ran and San Xia (since she was the person that reached out to him to check on his mental health and he seemed to get better with her help). If he had to say something, it should have been to "see how Mrs. San is doing" but without the confusing epilogue, I should have ended it when the boys were swimming and cheering. The episode where our rapper is rapping live and then we have that different credits scene of teachers dancing (honestly felt like the last episode, not sure why they did the credits for only that episode unless Youku messed up because all the other episodes end on the virtual game thing with the astronauts that look like our main characters) so I wonder if there was some editing/censors because the episodes felt a little off after the rapping live thing as if scenes were cut out but there are only 30 episodes, so scenes could have been added instead of making us fill in offscreen scenes like YS confessing to school about bullying and getting the reprimand (they didn't even show a scene in black and white as flashback to him going before the principal committee + apologizing and making up with YY, I know he's not a main but YY is) that makes me thinks scenes were cut because off-screen stuff which we shouldn't have to fill in. The only acceptable offscreen stuff but that would be mentioned is like someone being unalived/abuse/etc like where you only see the before and after of YS self-harming and the before and after of YS abusing that butterfly.

I only expected the teachers to have romance. The students are too focused on the exam and dealing with problems LOL even rapper boy stopped from going forward with asking YS to be his GF.

It felt so unnecessary TBQH. They could have shown their accomplishments. I still don't understand why Steve Jobs of Longhai decided he wanted to be a dad at 28 LOL where were his children then? I expected him to have said, "I hope to give my granny a good life and make something of myself etc" I shipped rapper with Yu Shan and Li Ran with Shen Yao!

I can only think that it happened off-screen since SY got that reprimand letter that he had to admit what he did and he had to apologize in front of the school principal etc. But we don't know, they should have shown it to give more growth to the character. But since he was hanging out when they did that swimming, I can only assume he did and they are both ok since YY wasn't anxious etc.

It honestly didn't make sense to me to need to do the relationships, they could have focused on accomplishments. We didn't need the lovelines except for one set of couples. Since this series was more focused on Gaokao, which is what CN HS teens focus on and dating tends to be "talking" /superficial surface level very little actual dating (although there are those that are not so focused/forced to focus on Gaokao since they have outside responsibilities based on economic levels. But with this being so heavy on the exam + college with some insight on the background of the students, it isn't like your typical drama that's focused on romance. I saw more chemistry between Shen Yao and Li Ran than Yu Shan LOL
I can see why LR and SY were shipped by Cnetz LOL Since the plot is Gaokao (which technically would be the plot of every series set in CN HS because that's what those 4 years are for with very little time to focus on life except for those that have a lower economic life like shown in this series), we didn't get as much LR and SY as we should have basically enemies to lovers if it had not been censored LOL
they dropped and rush this drama . Is this a big production/ budget drama ? I bet iqiyi dropped less familiar…
Doesn't quiet airdropping sometimes mean that one person in the cast might have a scandal brewing or they just want it to drop before Chinese New Year since that time is so busy that people may or may not be glued to their TV.
