I actually don’t think XW has his memories. I think XW is the variable that JXN was able to affect with all…
I guess only time will tell. I do think XW remembering exists in subtext though. I could be wrong. But it just feels ever-present when I watch their scenes.
Many characters are behaving differently because of Ning. Her sister, Zhou Yin Zhi (the sergeant), the princess. They haven't changed fundamentally, but there are slight differences in their behaviour as they relate to her. Which then has a ripple effect.
Ning has the ability to alter actions of people, but they are still who they are.
Which also is one of the reasons why I think XW can remember. Because XW is different now . His changes are more similar to Ning's: someone who has learned from the consequences of their actions and wants to do better.
Ning is amazing, but I'm not sold on the idea that she's managed to change XW with her trust. She's not even in love with him yet, Also I think in order for the love triangle (between ZZ, Ning and XW) to be complete and engaging that all three of them have to remember.
I like how ZZ and XW are aware of each other’s capabilities. However, based on the drama only, I’m not sure…
I think we have been shown those clues. Aside from the moment XW and ZZ met, there are moments between Ning and XW that are questionable. The direction and lighting change drastically - a suspended moment and something hinted at - then back to reality.
It's also in the writing. subtle, but there. XW is ruthless but soft towards Ning, XW of the past was infinitely ruthless to everyone it seems - including Ning. The only reason I think can think of to explain this change is that XW is correcting himself from his past life. And to do that he would need to remember.
I could be wrong, but it looks like all three have their memories.
The ZZ versus XW debate is interesting. I'm thoroughly enjoying them for what they are.
ZZ is a quiet man, who had a poor and perhaps loving childhood - a righteous man who lives life to the law.
XW is a tiger in sheep's clothing, Politically astute. Perhaps the only moments of peace he's known as those in Yan Mansion with his uncle.
I for one enjoy ZZ and XW's dynamic. ZZ and XW have a begrudging truce. On their very first meeting you could see them both looking at each other with their memories fully on display. And they agree to watch each other, to observe and reserve judgement.
The thing about all three that I find very beautiful, is that they've all got this second chance and they're making the most of it, trying to right their wrongs and live differently than before. XW is not going to continue burying his love so deep in his heart for fear of showing vulnerability and making his love a target. ZZ is perhaps showing some level of ambition and questioning his black and white approach to life. Ning, is my absolute favourite. She is righting wrongs and taking receipts - she's decided to take sides in this war and how.
As far as who is right for Ning, it doesn't matter. Half of the story is still left to be told. She is clearly in love with ZZ. He upon first meeting her in this life told her he was going to break off his engagement, and he did. I also saw Ning grow to trust XW. They are confidants that share secrets and apologize when one is in the wrong. All these little subtleties make the show perhaps the best historical romantic drama I have ever seen.
The leads are so unbelievably cute in this series. I know some were upset with certain character traits in AiLongNhai, but I loved the cutesy wootsy of it all. And I love the shades of it here.
Wahl is in intriguing third wheel. I felt sorry for him the first episode because I thought it's not his fault he's not gay. But his actions in episodes 2 and 3 make me think he is, and he's just keeping Guy in a corner because he can. Which is not okay.
Also, that first date. I was blown away. The aquarium, checking in about the outfits, Thiu buying tickets, and Thiu being quite. Not to mention Guy's whole internal thought process, which who hasn't been there? It was like he was assessing the success of the date and Thiu's green and red flags the entire time. It was adorable, and I enjoyed it so much. I also enjoyed that Tew seemed to like Guy. It's not in your face, atleast not so far. Its subtle, like him. This series is sooooo well done. I'm so happy the leads got something like this.
I wanted to slap Win in the face soooo badly…. Wake up and chase your lover for xxxx’s sake!! But of course…
Yeah they’re just extending the “will they won’t they vibe”. But they have and they will. Win can’t not chase after him, any more then he can help being a bit scared of loving someone.
Want to leave a positive comment about this drama.
Win and Team are adorable and realistic. It's a hard line to toe, especially in a college-age setting. Both have baggage and doubts, and it shows.
They may not be an official couple, yet. But they're getting there at their own pace and it's beautiful to watch.
The journey is the story. Team is dealing with some very real trauma. And Win, well he saw Team and almost instantly wanted him, but that doesn't mean they're compatible. Win said it to his friends: he wants to get to know Team. They're dating. Exclusively dating. Slowly he'll get to know more and more of Team, who is so closed off and guarded. And Team will learn to trust that Win will always have his back. It's so sweet it breaks my heart. How in the world have these two managed to corner sweet and hot?
For me that unspoken awareness is everything. That support, sometimes silent, always constant - it's inspiring. I love that although they haven't declared their love for each other in so many words, their actions always show us. We're being shown, not told - and for that I love this show.
I read some comments that the ML marries the SFL, does that happen? Even if he is forced, fake or if he just pretends like he will but doesn't as part of some master plan? I really dislike plots like those
lol i like how cha eunwoo is just like seojun in real life whereas huang in yeop is more like suho in real life
So true! Lol In Yeop is a total shy guy in real life. And Eun Woo is just such a jokster. It looks like they have tons of fun on set - the whole cast. I love what BTS ive seen
There is this rumor spreading on instagram about Seojun new love interest and it might be the girl who bullied…
I saw that on twitter. Some people saw a couple of her stills and thought she would be a new character but she's already been introduced so I think most of this is just a rumour. She may uplevel to stalker though
i havent actually watched this show so can someone like confirm if this stuff is right or not? (btw u can spoil…
The pics are real stills. Episodes as yet unaired. And no, Seojun is not bad. Just a bit of a bad boy, but all the characters have flaws. Which is what makes this show stand out.
They have set Suho up as the fated love and the one Jugyeong likes. The webtoon is as yet unfinished, and imo, the ending of the drama is unclear - if she ends up with Suho or Seojun or neither. Only half the drama has aired so far.
Rumors have it that SLS is strong in this one, the rumors were right. At the same time Eun Woo's visuals keep…
Same here. I am enjoying the show. Cha Eun Woo brought me here and I am just like thanks!
As far as the SLS - honestly Hwang In Yeops acting is just fire. He will go far, you can tell. GaYoung is unparalled. She is in a league of her own. So I just love seeing them on screen together. They are capable of so much individually that it just elevates everything they do together.
Its hard for me to not be carried away by all that In Yeop emotes. Gayoung plays Jugyeong and all her contradictions so well. Its easy to slip into a space where you feel like she could care for them both.
Im also not a webtoon reader and had no clue about the webtoon or any of its plotlines until after SLS set it.
I think they set out to do it tbh. To convert us and torture us and keep us hooked lol
Suho and jugyung are the right couple. And for some reason people should know this a drama and seojun is the second…
Ofourse, fully agreed. But like I said, as a support only.
I discussed some pretty personal things. So yeah, I am unable to disregard some things for certain reasons. That is my bias here and it may be unwarranted, but it is what it is. Oh well.
As far as Suhos character goes I think it's brilliantly done and extremely consistent with the P TSD that he is dealing with as well as his depression and even some social anxiety.
The way his issues manifest themselves in his behaviour is excellent writing. And it is the best I have seen in a teen kdrama so far. I just personally dislike Suho and JG in a relationship because of the reasons I said before. But that's just my opinion, and it's fine if we disagree. We all know how the show is going to end anyway, so its a moot point.
Suho and jugyung are the right couple. And for some reason people should know this a drama and seojun is the second…
I care for Suho, I really do. And I feel for him
Having personal experience with such mental health issues, I am not partial to JG being Suhos medication.
No person is anothers cure. All the other person can do is support.
I wish their lovestory didnt include this element. I could totally be on board but this stops me. It wasnt until ep 5-6 I think that I jumped ship.
Because Ive also been in JGs shoes too. And it felt really crappy when his needs became the focus of our relationship. Apologies were hard earned and rare.
I learned that just because someone is struggling doesnt excuse any questionable behaviour. Possessiveness always has explanation, but an explanation is not an ongoing justification. I also experienced this firsthand. It was a hard lesson.
Let me make this clear, I understand Suhos position and JGs, and I have to say as person who has to stay vigilant about my own mental health, the kindest thing you can do for the ppl you love is to take responsibility for your own baggage. Expecting someone else to be responsible for your own happiness or taking responsibility for someone elses happiness is romanticized so much, and yet is the worst kind of love.
Thats why I dont like Suho and JG together. Maybe that will change if he changes. My character bias is seojun, and a part of the reason I ship JG and him, which is separate to my bias, is bc he is uncomplicated and fun.

I love Suhos character, I like seojun ans jugyeong banter more.
