After I watched it, I understood why fans of the original are upset. There is so much to the story that it is hard to condense it into a two hour movie and feel satisfied with the result. An anime remake or even a K-drama would have been better than this. I cannot believe the director and production team really put this out and felt proud of their work. Can I even blame Ahn Hyo Seop for his portrayal of Dokja when the director and screenwriter made his character appear like that? If you are a fan of the original, you would feel really frustrated watching it because of the preconceived standards you already had. If you have no prior exposure to the webtoon or novel, then you might enjoy it.

simple short story
it tells a simple yet deeply emotional story about grief, guilt, and sisterhood. The acting was subtle yet powerful, with very realistic and emotional storytelling. There is no over explaining, and the silences throughout the scenes truly capture the heavy, lingering feeling of grief. Jeon Yeon been portrayed those emotions wellWas this review helpful to you?
Engaging watch all the way through. It's a must watch
I went into this without watching the anime or the Japanese live action adaptation, and tbh it stands strong as a great standalone series. The CGI was incredible. It looked so real and you can tell a lot of detail and effort went into every scene. The storyline was solid with good pacing. Most of the major questions were answered and the plot flowed really well from start to finish. The final fight scene left me pretty satisfied too. The acting was fantastic. Every performance felt believable and added depth to the story. It is a great science fiction thriller that perfectly balances melodrama, action, suspense and gore all in one.Would I recommend watching it? Hell yeah
I am honestly surprised it has not gained as much attention as it deserves.
My only complaint is that Netflix did not include a second season. There is definitely potential to go deeper with the story and characters if they continued it.
to conclude, Parasyte the grey is an engaging, thrilling and well made series that is absolutely worth your time.

The true story begins after the suicide
I was confused while watching at first, but everything made sense after seeing the last scene..

The movie isn’t really about what happened or what led to Kyungmin’s death, but about how people reacted afterward. In the end, it’s implied that Younghee took her own life to make Kyungmin’s mother, the teacher, and the classmates understand what it feels like to be blamed for someone’s suicide and carry that guilt. This mirrors Kyungmin’s death, too, since no one realised how much she was struggling until she died and now the same thing is happening with younghee. It also becomes clear that the title was foreshadowing younghee’s death, since the story is told from her point of view. Overall, this movie was really well made. Going in, I didn’t expect it to have such a strong message it’s different from other Korean films about suicide I’ve seen
