Don’t hate me, but if Sang Yan were ugly, his chasing and pining after WYF all these years would come across…
I kinda disagree. Sang Yan comes across as loving her without expectations. Sure, he pines for her, but he’s very hands off and is constantly looking to her for cues how to act. I don’t think he’s ever really perused her or chased her, he just seems like someone in love who wants what’s best for the person he loves. He wants her to be healthy and safe, that’s his priority.
Does anyone else get the feeling that the FL character might be on the autism spectrum? She reminds me of myself (and my son) and our "flat" external reactions to input / traumatic events. She also seems to take a really long time to process her own feelings. Similarly, she doesn't seem to "catch on" to the ML's intentions at all (obliviousness) and takes him at his word / never "reads into" his behavior.
Basically, she seems confused by him and herself, and this tracks for someone with ASD.
ALSO, I love her. First time I've seen a FL who reminds me so much of myself. LOVE LOVE LOVE HER.
After reading the article, I’m actually still really confused as to why this is considered misogynistic if a guy dresses with no effort on a date with me I wouldn’t think that he was at all interested; likewise if a woman dresses with no effort on a date with me I would think she wasn’t interested either. That seems to be all he’s saying. It’s not like he said women shouldn’t work or women shouldn’t get paid equally or women shouldn’t be taken seriously, nor did he say anything about his costars needing to dress in a particular way.
I started watching this and was going to drop it (due to boredom). But then I read the comments here and saw everyone watching for the second couple. I fast-forwarded all but the second couple's scenes and their part was very good!! Highly recommend doing this.

This is how I felt while Lovely Runner was airing.
