He does. She doesn't think he's an option and therefore forces herself to (or tries to) think of him with indifference / as a colleague. She distances herself over and over, pragmatically attempting to avoid catching feelings since he told her "you'll never be my real wife." Meanwhile, he quickly falls completely in love with her. He falls first and he falls harder.
I don't understand why this drama isn't more highly rated. I really love both the ML and FL and the acting is solid. The production value is fine, music is fine, story is fine. I wish our main couple had more non-mystery scenes together, but otherwise no complaints. It's a lot of fun and the chemistry is SO GOOOOOOOD. Ding Yu Xi communicates so much with just his eyes. Reading these comments to see if I should watch this drama and I do not think the word “feminism” means what y’all think it means. Literally, it just means equal rights, and you’re out here using it as a synonym for “oppression and mistreatment of men.”
Ok but both of their characters here (per the description here) sounds like childish messes. 😅😅Otherwise…
We can't have a character arc if they've already got everything figured out at the beginning of the show. I have no problem with selfish characters at the start of a show (or book, or film, or whatever) as long as they change by the end of it.
