The song played at the start of ep 54 is 'I Love You' by Lee Jae Hoon (Cool). Those who watched My Only One might be familiar with this song where it was covered by So Hyang.
do all family dramas just get better and better the more episodes you watch? or is this one just amazing?
Not all of them. For example Beautiful Love Wonderful Life was a KBS weekend drama which aired before this drama on the same time slot. It started off really well. The first few episodes were of a good quality. But after like 40 eps it got really draggy and it kinda went downhill for me. Idk about others. Some of the characters deserved much better imo.
Two other dramas are Gracious Revenge and Home for Summer. But these are daily family dramas so their quality is even lower than these weekend ones. So you can't really expect more from them. Same for Love and Secret and Angel's Revenge. But I might give Angel's Revenge another try.
The exceptions are the ones that Aditi Saini has mentioned and I'd like to add My Golden Life to the list. It was an emotional rollercoaster at least for me. What Happens to My Family also deserves a special mention. That drama was so entertaining!! Loved all the couples and especially the brother sister relationship between Soon Bong and Soon Geum. This is one of the reasons I'm watching this drama. To see Young Dal and Cho Yeon (Young Sook) reunite and become siblings again.
My Only One was a lot lot better compared to Beautiful Love Wonderful Life but I wouldn't say it is an exceptional family drama. However it still has it's positive sides. The cast was great and some of the artists' acting was good too. One of the cast member got a lot of hate for their acting because viewers started to see her as that character. She did a good job handling the role.
Ah long Kdramas!! They're my favourite! I'm currently watching Once Again and it's going well. I see you've mentioned most of my favourite dramas.
To those that haven't watched the above mentioned dramas please do check it out! I highly recommend Empress Ki(Ha Ji Won won me over with her acting! She's so gracious on the screen), QSD (Has one of the greatest villains in KDrama), Five Enough (This drama taught me so many things. The relationships are heartwarming to watch as well as the acting of the cast). My Only One got me so emotional at times. The OSTs are all lovely my top two being 'All About You' by U-mb5 ft. Hodge and 'No One Else' by Ulala Session. Same with MGL, 'The Wind Is Blowing' by Park Sun Yae. Father is Strange!! Had a 2 wk slump because of that drama. I'd also like to mention Come! Jang Bo Ri. Lee Yu Ri totally rocks villain roles.
Please give these dramas a try. Or check out their OSTs first. Sometimes OSTs can get you hooked and you mayend up giving the drama a go. Who knows you'll soon grow attached to the characters and either love (or hate them with a passion!). Great blog.

Yes. It's evident the cast are more laid back and comfortable around each other allowing them to have a lot of chemistry and in turn a good family drama in the making. I just hope they keep this up though.
I've also watched a few eps of I Live Alone and it's so nice to see him being his usual self doing things without a care in the world. He's just Sunghoon. Not Sunghoon the actor. As for dramas I've only watched Five Enough. I'll check out his other dramas.
Thank you for putting out this article. As a trainee nurse I have really enjoyed this slice-of-life drama in a hospital setting. The characters and their stories are very heartwarming to watch and their encounters with their patients to their friendships... I enjoyed every moment of it. This drama is also motivating me to work harder in my studies and to take the lessons learned from this gem to become a better person and a good nurse (in 2 yrs!). Really looking forward to S2. Thank you both once again!
Yesss!!! I'm actually about to complete this drama! Such a good family drama this was. All the characters were fun to watch. The kids are lovely too. That housekeeper had more sense than the grandparents lol. Good blog!
