I haven't properly started watching this drama yet and I'll admit that I'm hesitant. It does sounds funny but I'm not sure I'll be able to fully get into the actual storyline.

Well, I am considering watching this one, it seems like fun, and I agree with you totally about Oedipus part.

And I enjoyed Two Faces of My Girlfriend, I actually watched that one on a whim while skimming through youtube. Totoally enjoyed it. Will totally check out Lost Memories! They're all so awful parents I can't figure out who I think are the worst ones. Interesting article. I definitely agree on everything you said about Marriage, Not Dating. It's one of my favorites from this year as well.

You hit it on the nail with the mother from High School Love On. I've never seen a character as selfish as her in my life before. She's horrible!

I thought that Marriage not Dating Mom was not as bad as dad from Angel Eyes.

I didn't watch any of these but makjangs have way worst parents.

I agree. She was horrible in the beginning, but later we realize it's because of her cheating husband and whatever else has caused her to be psychologically harmed. She's torn between happiness and being near her son, who has no idea of this and hates her. Gahh, I really felt for her. She came around near the end and she's a softy. Not a bad parent at all actually. She sacrificed her life for her son...

sorry but mom in Marriage not Dating should not be here. she's one of the well-written/characterized mother in laws in dramaland.

Min Jung's real mother in Jang Bo Ri is Here is by far the worst mother I have ever seen in a drama, and I've seen a LOT of horrible drama mamas. I hated her to the very core of my being and honestly found her to be a disgusting disgrace to all humans. Even if Jang Bo Ri is full of evil characters to choose from, she is by far the worst. I do agree with some of the others you put on the list except the mom in Marriage Not Dating, because I have to agree with yellowposh, she was a really well written character and was acted out exceedingly well. She doesn't get a gold star by any means, but she was relatable and like you said, redeemed herself.

For 2014 and in the Kdrama category, I would also add the mom in Glorious Day, and the parents in Hotel King like Rika217 said.

I totally agree with the High School Love On mom - she is absolutely despicable and I can't for any reason understand her. and I agree on the runner ups as they weren't horrible but they definitely weren't doing a very good job at parenting.
You probably haven't seen Glorious Day or Come Jang Bo Ri - those moms top my list. Great article though ;D

Nice article!! Also Oh Soo Hyun's dad in Doctor Stranger was not a good dad, but he was more an awful person than just an awful dad. And I found Jin Hee's mom in Emergency Couple Super annoying, but she was not really bad. And Hotel King!
