Zhou Zishu went from a pragmatic AH to a disney AH... whereas WKX went from an unscrupulous hero to a classical…
I think they are both at best unscrupulous and arguably even just outright villains. To me neither come close to ever becoming heroes in any sense, in fact if they become righteous it would just ruin the unique appeal of the whole show. ZZS still is only all about keeping his word of honor - to Jin Wang, to his shifu and to safeguard Chengling. Morality doesn't factor into any of those decisions. Same with WKS, he is revenge driven and only loyal to those he cares about regardless of right and wrong. The so called redemption they both seek is more to be able to live together and the whole world be damned. How dark are they? Damn! I just love them that way! The only real hero in the show is Chengling.

I wish there are subtitles
They are almost entirely from the drama's script, just re-arranged. I could do it over the weekend but probably someone else will get to it first.

Wonderful article - Chen Kun's Ning Yi is my favorite anti-hero.
Of course the darkest protagonists this year for me have to be both lead characters of Word of Honor Zhang Zhehan/Gong Jun's Zhou Zishu/Wen Kexing . Heck you almost have to call them villains.

Sigh after ep 22 I am seriously on the verge of dropping this. I find this new girl boastful and shrill and in her own way just as annoying as Yao Yao. I really dislike productions that portray women like this, especially during a time of profound change in China. They throw the one good female character under the bus to make way for two airheads! Well done!!!

I think the ratings are glitching. Everything is going up and then down and then up...

This is an atrocity. Love both leads but... its like I am watching mother and son and then I am like.. oh... what... they are a couple??? I can suspend disbelief but wow this should be tagged fantasy.

I am still sitting on the fence on this. In the novel, I couldn't relate to Shiyi and I also didn't like ZSC.…
Yes indeed that is what I look forward to - the writer closing the loop in the future episodes.

That's what tragedies are made of no? That one decisive moment in time. And yes you hit on another one of my big issues... LXZ doesn't suffer. So there is no cosmic justice and I have no closure. I loved many things about this drama but wow..... who wants to be good person after watching this???

Lmao...not a regular romance watcher even though I do appreciate good kiss scenes (few and far between) I just wanted to put some stuff out there so that we have a benchmark to evaluate F&E kisses against. But happy to defer to veteran viewers like yourself wrt what is the gold standard of a good kiss...

Yes indeed, there are 20 more episodes where he can show us so I am not knocking it at all but the writer has to bring it all together (which I hope they can).

I am still sitting on the fence on this. In the novel, I couldn't relate to Shiyi and I also didn't like ZSC. So far I like them both a lot more than the novel, especially wrt their relationship with each other. Its much more healthy.. My only problem with ZSC so far is I don't see much of the ZSC of the past like he is not even the same person.

does anyone know why she burned everything in ep 24?
It foreshadows what she intended to do. She doesn't need her keepsakes anymore.
