I think SSS S2 is probably won't start shooting until after JOL3 is completed shooting. Neither has started yet though JOL3 is rumoured to begin shooting imminently. I am much looking forward to them both and not that fussed which one starts first.

You should be almost done with the first arc/case there. Maybe see if the second case is more interesting for you.

I think it’s very enjoyable but Zhan Zhao is a long known martial arts hero to me. And this is like a plot driven slice of his life story it doesn’t really get into his origin story. So it’s not resonating with everyone on here. I think you should check it out if only to
see the fight scenes. And if the plot is not plotting for you then just abandon ship.

And you probably also picked up from Sword and Plowshares that Xiangyang wang is a remnant of Taizu's (the first Song emperor/Zhao Kuangyin) line of succession. I am currently guessing that so is Ming Zuér - hence his family's massacre, though unlikely to be by Zhan Zhao. If Zhan Zhao did it, it can only be because he was carrying out an imperial order.

Yes Song dynasty had a highly advanced, centralized judicial system that evolved around codified written law (the Song Code) that strictly regulated the expanding commercial society. Song courts (the legendary Justice Bao) placed a strong emphasis on preventing miscarriages of justice.

Its entirely possible that the Linglong Eye is some kind of superpower linked to Linglong's bloodline. I kind of hope they don't go there though. That strays into fantasy/xianxia territory and I kind of hope this stays firmly in wuxia-land.

Well sometimes dramas that don't hook you at first work out at second attempt. I didn't get JOL at all when I tried it while airing. I picked it up more than a year later and I loved it!

And I can't wait to find out the secret behind Ming Zhu'er's identity and why he has to be protected or so carefully hidden. But Xiangyang wang mentioned in passing he is from Taizu emperor's line, thus it is smart to hide his heirs. Taizu was the founding Song emperor, most likely murdered by his brother Taizong, who also went out of his way to kill Taizu's adult sons. The current emperor is from Taizong's line of succession.
