Welp I thought it was kind of obvious who Xiao Wei is at ep 2 and by ep 3, I am almost 100 pct sure bc this is bc for anyone familiar with Painted Skin and GJM, you can't help but guess. Its just too soon I wish the mystery lasted longer.

Its her voice - GJM requires the main cast to dub themselves unfortunately in this case. I don't mind her acting that much but her voice acting makes me grind my teeth.

Many of the older generation can act very well and considering the scope of this story, I wouldn't have minded they cast two actresses - one older and one younger in that main role. I personally thought TMOPB was YM's best drama but when you watch the extensive BTS you will see she is super lazy she didn't even bother to really speak her lines bc she knew she was going to be dubbed by a pro. Now that actors are increasingly required to speak their own lines, its coming back to bite her hard.

Unfortunately this drama is going to be mainly about her character. I struggle most with her when she dubs herself I don’t mind her so much when a pro dubs her.

Yeah she is quite a flawed character - judgey and a bit selfish.
