I agree that It can't get very repetitive when you watch too much kdramas, but it didn't ruin the experience at all for me cuz there's so much to enjoy here.
You can clearly see Koreeda's hand here. He's one of my favorite film directors of all time and watching him do a Jdrama featuring Yu Aoi and Suzu Hirose is all I could've asked for. This show is so good.
That car scene where he stops and lets Sa Eon do whatever he wants, even though he could have run him over so many times, was just ridiculous. It felt like watching a bad horror movie where the characters make dumb decisions. I’ve actually been in a similar situation before—another car stopped me, and a guy got out armed. I just hit the gas and got out of there as fast as I could. So that scene felt really unrealistic to me.
