For those who are currently watching this drama, may I kindly ask whether Episodes 1 and 2 are meant to be slow?…
I watched episode 1 when it first aired and went omg this is so slow. I went back to it last week, watching the last 10min of ep. 1 and settled myself in for a slower paced drama. By the end of episode 3 I was addicted. So my advice.... keep going!
I started to watch this back at release time, but didn't get past the first episode. It felt very slow an d I wondered what the hype was.
I went back to it a few days ago and have binge watched the rest over 3 days. Totally addictive.
Loved the OST, loved the action, loved the characters (even the baddies can be amusing), loved the scenery.
Yang Yang looks magnificent and 98% of the time plays his part perfectly. (He does overact a few scenes, but they come off as funny, so maybe that was the aim).
His character certainly appeals to the ladies - but who does he really like? I think he admires Miss Mo and if his life was different she may have been the one for him. He obviously feels close to Nangong Wan for obvious reasons, and she him, but will she be his match!?
The worst thing? The last scene with "end of Season 1" !!!! Nooooooo...... They better start making Season 2 soon!!!
Definitely a fun watch... with a commentary on society's standards and just a hint of romance <3
ML - Lee Jong Won, plays the guard with a secret and painful past with a sober and even sad appearance, his natural exuberance deeply hidden (only FL can bring it out occasionally). His care and sympathy for FL streamed out of his eyes.
FL - Lee Ha Nee embodies her character - determined and positive under her widow persona. I think she had fun with the role!

YiXun found it in a scrap pile when he was working on the docks. He took it home, they hammered the base back into shape and re-installed it in its previous spot.
Well-named indeed! Imperfect characters leading imperfect and sometimes messy lives. Enjoyed all the different relationships and emotions it explored. Beautiful cinematography.
This is my all time favourite drama by a mile and I don’t think another drama will top it. The role reversal…
I've just watched that scene with the ML's mother... OMG. Like really, you just want him to live quietly and UNHAPPILY without love!? Just so you don't get embarrassed? You want to wreck a happy couple who have weathered so much other opposition just so you won't have to listen to negative opinions from neighbours? Get a backbone. Grrrrrrrrr.
Great costuming and reasonably good storyline. Not a fan of the FL - either as an actress or her role. The FL didn't deserve the ML for 80% of the drama but SWL as ML carried it off well.
I was watching this and just enjoying happy vibes - nothing really bad happened and it was going along an anticipated happy ending track.... when my husband walked past and asked me if I was watching a Hallmark movie. I looked shocked and started to defend it, but then I thought, it IS a bit sugary sweet, maybe he's not far off (except these actors can actually act lol).
I definitely enjoyed it, but I can't quite agree to the comparison to dramas like Hidden Love, First Frost etc.
This was actually pretty enjoyable even though it is 17 years old! An early version of a survival show with online voting determining the group. Its a great way to see the personalities emerge. Taecyeon really hasn't changed and you get glimpses of the Junho of today. The brutal training they went through when they thought they were going to have a mini holiday was a bit of a shock (to them and the viewer!).
Just finished this - it was like a good book you can't put down. I cried along with the characters, felt euphoric and distressed with the characters. So many lovely scenes to smile and go <3 <3 <3 , I often find the side stories annoying, but I happily watched these ones, perhaps because they didn't compete with the main line.
Bai Jing Ting WAS Sang Yan. Of course no man will ever be perfect like Sang Yan - to the disappointment of millions of women!
Watch Rain or Shine/Just Between Lovers. It's his best show by far.
I have heard The Red Sleeve is amazing but not a happy ending so I admit to having put it off so far! Thanks for the recommendation on The Good Manager :)
