Nonsense drama that brings no value
Each episode is the same as the previous one, nothing is happening in the story. The whole drama was just being dragged. The interactions of the main actors felt so unnatural and cringe for this series but not in their previous works. The story, plot and scenes were very repetitive throughout the whole show. 6 out of 10 episodes were filmed in just one location. In's house. It was also unacceptable for the screenwriter to make Thap to forgive and cry over someone that attempted to murder him, not once, not twice but three times, or should I even include the other scenes where Thap could've been in a fatal accident. This is improper behavior that is normalized to the viewers.
The other extra characters in the story did nothing for the series, they were there just so an episode could be completed.
For anybody saying this drama is about mental health, it's not. Bad past traumatic experiences and anxiety about the future is never solvable by just being with someone you love, that is what this drama misrepresented.

Definitely don't miss watching this
I saw one of Ruby lin's post about this Netflix series in the past few years and I never forgot about that post and I wondered when this series would be made and when it would air and near the end of 2021, I felt so happy that the teaser and the announcement of the release of Light the Night was finally here. I love the different personalities of each character, the plot, the scenes, the theme. Everything felt amazing to watch. I always felt eager to watch a new episode because it just keeps on getting more interesting with the movement of each scene. If there was only one thing I didn't like was that there was a bit too much smoking scenes, when the character is idle, they'll just smoke a cigarette. But nevertheless, I highly recommend anyone to watch this. There's a lot of mystery, romance, conflicts, betrayal and even empathy towards each character. I always remember the scenes of this drama from time to time because that's just how memorable this is.Was this review helpful to you?
Best kdrama of 2025
It felt so comfortable to watch. I loved every minute of the series. There was nothing draggy or boring about it, there was something always interesting happening for every scene. The story, actors, plot were really good. Sad to see it only had 12 episodes but everything was entertaining from start to finish. Was this review helpful to you?
Eye opening about Chinese society
We saw in this drama the majority of societal issues in China, how plenty of parents treat their children as investments, they'll push their kids to the edge, ignore their feelings and make sure their lives are fully under their control. It is also why having a male child is highly prioritized and many females were either aborted or given away to orphanages. Many people in China value their image around other people and will protect it all cost. Higher ups always take advantage of the powerless and usually they are not capable of defending themselves, they just get heavily gaslighted and smeared. Injustices like rape cases do not get handled and solved properly, victims would often just be suffering in silence. Even when others know and see injustices, they would rather ignore as long as it is not personally affecting them. This drama is truly eye opening and should make Chinese society change for the better in the future. Was this review helpful to you?
Underrated drama that highlights a societal issue
This has to be one of the most underrated kdramas. Most drama viewers would lean on cringe, no substance, overhyped dramas over something that has a meaningful storyline and gives attention to people that are truly suffering. Every new character in every episode had valid experiences and when they wanted to let go, this drama made sure that they would let go of someone peacefully. It covers a controversial topic which may not be agreeable to everyone. The story and acting was well presented. Was this review helpful to you?
