Like YWY, he didn't do anything at first but the moment YWY acts suspicious, HFX orders people to follow the guy. And that's his rival. With the woman he loves, I think he's more trusting.

IMO, the novel itself is not really wuxia, it's more about the warfare actually. This is Tencent mistake for advertising this as Wuxia, lead to wrong expectation from the audiences.
