I can kinda see where you're coming from. But I think the moral of the story is Jinqi realises he can't follow the Heaven Ways of giving blind loyalty to the throne forever (look at what happened to the Shen family). He's ambitious and decisive but not ruthless. His family is the most important to him, and Lan Xiang shows him how to protect and care for them better (she practically saves the whole Lin family). Real strength comes from love, not power/status and brute force 😊
