How this series caught us off guard, scares me. Each episode is a breath of fresh air, with its cinematography and 1960's stage theatre vibes. Not forgetting how hot the daddies are here. This is not your typical BL series as it creates emotional resonance with viewers and room for interpretation.
Chi Cheng and Wei wei never admitting they love each other, is what makes this a MASTERPIECE. A single glance was a confession. Chi Cheng admired Wu Suo Wei because he was chaotic, unpredictable and devious but not cruel.

When CC was set free and went outside the Procuratorate, he first saw ChengShuai, then his mom pulling over the car, down the stairs his dad being last. He only asked for car keys from him and left them both behind to see his precious Wei, because they never paid anything and let Wei suffer alone during the jail arc.
This series isn't the kind that you rate casually - it asks you to feel first, then you can decide. It's a 10/10 because the actors delivered and worked so hard.
Bittersweet but hopeful is the perfect description.

Me too, I have some to run some errands.😭😭 You see CC didn't love WSW, he admired him at first glance, he amplified him to be the man he is today. At the end, WSW fell for him harder...aand he thought it was mind-play games all along just to get revenge but he was building his love for CC.
I always thought that CC was a sly and cunning man. But, sitting down and thinking that I was wrong with what WSW did, he takes the cup. His love goes deeper than the ocean, a devious but not cruel mastermind.

They are both broken, have nothing and still standing strong for each other. CCuwei, their joint venture company was their love in corporate form, that Chi Cheng invested a lot to build Wei as he believed in him and challenged his life the most.
This series was a bittersweet but hopeful watch, and the signs have always been there. It was well executed. The title itself, carries emotional feelings and thoughts, such that I was hesitant to watch. The snake fights at the beginning, how the main characters were introduced and Zi Yu dodging the snake curse.
I have learnt that life offers you a possibility of second chances, and the potential for growth and change in relationships. For example, Chi Cheng willingly changed his cunning and devious schemes for Wu Suo Wei, a fearless fellow who loves wholeheartedly.
8.6?? Seems like it will reach 8.0 by tomorrow, ppl be watching to criticize and hate RL's recognition. This series is the most popular on searches be it YouTube and your pirated sites.
8.7 rating forever it seems. RL really managed to steal the show, we ditched most of on-going series just to watch Weiwei paint CC and smiling like an idiot.😍
