Li Ya Nan. Maybe my screen’s definition is too high for my sanity 🤣 I really got annoyed by the pancake make up and really weird hairline that was going on there 🤷🏻‍♀️

LYN had so much pancake make up on that he could barely blink, his ears and neck were of a completely different colour; XK’s hair line had some mysterious thing going on, like he was wearing a wig or something. I am not that bothered by these things but it just felt weird, unnecessary, if that makes sense 😊

This was absolutely delicious. Every single detail - storyline, acting, direction, *music*, costumes, make up, everything. What an absolute delight!

This was a really beautiful study on fear - of hurting, of trying, of letting go, of upsetting, of confronting … of the sea… all ingrained by silence and miscommunication. Community, connection, and the mature resolution of bearing with the consequences enabled all those entangled in their fears to resolve them. Each of the characters, at the end, found support to overcome their fears. This was beautifully represented by Mi Ja’s return to the sea, under the watchful eye of her daughter. Ha. I wonder wether this was based on a book? Please let me know if that’s the case, I would love to read it.

What.Is.It.With.The.Phones.?
I mean, *how many times can the authors use the same excuse*?
For such a poor script, it looks like the answer is *hundreds of times*.
Exhausting.

It’s lovely, but why does the FL need to have the personality of a boiled parsnip? I mean, who the hell holds a *strawberry* with two hands to eat it? There’s a wee age gap but the FL is a young woman, not a toddler - or is infantilisation considered to be attractive? Why not allow interesting, witty dialogue and equalise the power dynamics? The ML comes across as a masculine, serious and committed man, with some occasional smouldering gazing - it would have been lovely if he had a match in the FL. The lack of angst is great, though - apart from the ones generated by the girl holding stuff. I mean - I can’t even 🙄

Interesting, but I'm curious, do you prefer the SML over the SFL because he's male and handsome? Have you come…
I suppose women are indoctrinated to believe that men’s jealousy or obsessiveness are desirable. That’s why so many women in abusive relationships find it so difficult to part with this kind of thing - ‘It means he loves me’, or ‘ I deserve this because xxxxxx’, etc. Really sad.

Hey, step back a wee bit and try to see this all from another point of view. How would you feel if a bunch of…
In real life, in a sane, adult relationship, those who love me are happy with my happiness and will not interfere with my decisions. It doesn’t matter if they are parents, siblings, friends, co-workers, neighbours or whatever.
Judging others, speaking behind their backs, acting on one’s judgemental thoughts to any effect *is a toxic behaviour and should not be considered normal*.
Fans are not friends. Actors are skilled professionals that interprete characters. They are not their characters. Giving them your money does not buy their affection, does not create a relationship. This is not a prostitution agreement, where someone allocates their time to you for close contact in exchange for money. If an actor did that, wouldn’t it be so very sad?
If you, as an individual, decide to boycott an actor, it makes absolutely no difference to them, because they have no idea that you exist.
If you, as part of a fandom hive mind, decide to boycott them, they will suffer pressure from their management companies, supporting their hold on the artist, much like a slave relationship. Although the artist will continue not having a clue that you, as an individual, exist, the hive mind becomes a horrible toxic bullying monster. And this mentality is not dissimilar to the one that leads people to accept genocides. Do you get the size and proportion of this? Do you get the size of the toxicity, of the meaninglessness of this all?
Meanwhile, are you ok? Quoting Mary Oliver, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? You may want to have a look at what research is being done around obsession with celebrities. Here is a good summary. Sometimes is good to pause a bit and check out how we are responding to things, and see if we could do with a bit of help. https://psychcentral.com/blog/the-psychology-of-celebrity-worship#recap

So good to have adults playing adults. I still can’t believe it - no wrist grabbing, no FL tripping over her own shadow; things become soooo much better without the idiotic tropes.
