Hi I think you missed something in translation! That lady who hit the little boy (FL's 2nd bro) was NOT the FL's mum, but another woman who wanted to marry the FL's dad. She picked on the boy as he was too young to be able to retaliate etc, but was caught on camera and shown out the door. This was basically why the FL's Mum and FL's Dad did not officially marry until the FL's Mum was dying - because they were being considerate of the 2nd Bro's feelings when he was young. Hope that helps! :)

Yeah... the editing was a bit weird. I (? )think ML is meant to have fallen for FL at first sight when she convinces him to help her scare of that other prospective suitor dude? And then he goes and asks the emperor to decree their marriage? A bit daft not to court her first in my view, lol... I also wondered why she fell for ML over the 2ML - the drama just sort of presents it as a fact without showing us why. But hopefully it means we get to see more of the 2ML as the lead if they ever do a season 2 :)
