Go watch six flying dragons and tree with deep roots. Both are classic heavy Sageuks. She was great in both dramas. I don't know why people have doubts and hating on her just on those two dramas. Give her a chance and she will prove you all wrong.

When I saw Alchemy of souls is going to air their season 2 soon, I remembered how long this drama took to air their season 2. *Sighs*

Who else enjoyed the bromance scenes between the crown prince and Jang Uk ? Those scenes had me Rolling on the floor 🤣

I too never said you said the drama is about romance but I just reminded you the drama doesn't fall under the category of romance based dramas, so the amount of romance will just be right. It won't be more or less but just right to balance with the plot and to keep the intensity of the story. This drama doesn't target romance fan audience. We don't even know if Jang Uk like Mudeok's appearance or Naksu's personality and that will take time.

Ofcourse every first season is a ground work for the storytelling but slow burn romance in first season doesn't mean much romance in the next season. The ending of the first season implies the characters have more issues to deal with than just falling in love. Jang Uk coming back to life and him dealing with the problem at hand will be the beginning of season 2 and our girl Naksu needs to again shift souls. So I don't think we will have overflowing romance because our male lead didn't know how the original Naksu looked. This isn't your typical romance drama. The romance will be there but just the right amount again to keep the intensity of the story even better than the previous seasons

True she chose love after having taken her time and after the male lead had proven she's the only one for him unlike most series where characters have just met and they fall in love without any reason whatsoever. That's very cliché and cringy but here their love story developed healthily and with a reason. I doubt season 2 will have more romance either because our characters there will have more character development and more challenges a head. This drama isn't a historical romance melodrama like moon embracing the sun.

Try love and redemption. For me it's better than Ashes of Love

Yes ! It's Korean Wuxia with elements we miss in a typical Chinese Wuxia drama which makes it all the more entertaining

The real Naksu hooked me right in the first 20 minutes of episode 1

There are many Chinese dramas with this kind of Wuxia setting although some of them might bore you because they have those typical FLs unlike one in this drama

The romance was just the right amount. If they had added more, it would be no different from watching a typical Chinese Wuxia drama. This was a plus for me in this drama. I liked how the FL preferred survival over romance in their situation although she had feelings for the male lead.

What frustrated me the most is how she didn't know the identity of the girl whose body she shifted into untill the very end given how intelligent the character was.

I have finished watching the drama and it's one of the dramas where we don't get a typical female lead and male lead which was new and refreshing. This would have ended in one season if the writer reduced filler scenes but I guess they want to bring back our boys and our girl Naksu in a more serious badass mode. Naksu in her original form hooked me and I fell in love with her. Another thing I didn't like is how Mudeok stayed oblivious to her original identity till the end with all those obvious hints thrown at her face and how the characters let their guards down when Jin Mu was alive. I will definitely watch season 2 because I'm not one to watch a drama I have enjoyed halfway. It was a fine Wuxia with things which I miss in most straight cdramas. This is my best historical fantasy Kdrama this year.

First episode in the show and I'm already in love. This is the kind of FL I want if she's going to be badass like this. I wasn't even 20 minutes in and the show is already intense. It was as if I had watched half of the show already. I couldn't believe myself screaming when she swung her sword. OMG. Pure Wuxia in kdramaland with no censorship at that !
