Thanks for the entertaining article. I find a lot of cdramas, especially ancient ones, have a lot of female toxicity, but this year I've seen a few dramas with healthy, supportive female relationships. Often, cdramas highlight negative female culture, but it's refreshing to see the shift because we should be celebrating sisterhood.
Thanks for the detailed article. Now you got me curious and I'm excited to start another historical drama. And the cool thing is that I get to binge watch:)
I think Reba had done an outstanding job as Li Changge and I personally could not imagine another actress portraying…
I'm looking forward to "You're My Glory" for superficial reasons:) But I'd love to see her as a complex antagonist. She has expressive eyes, and I love watching actors hone their craft through different roles.
I wished they didn't use such bright makeup on her when she was dressed as a boy; it would be more realistic and she would look even more handsome.
Time issue. It would have lengthened the drama somewhat. I think they wanted to keep it to 49-50 episodes. Screenwriters…
Should have cut down Khatun's screen time instead. Would have much rather watch Pusa! Jokes aside, it shouldn't take that much time to explain their relationship. It would make much more sense why CG is representing them in the alliance and show her affiliation with the grasslands and plains.
This question was probably answered somewhere in this chat, but I'm new here. Does anyone know why did they change the relationship CG had with Pusa? It makes more sense if they followed the manhua. Is it a censorship issue?
I think you should skipped over her scenes than? I skipped over a Lot of scenes with khatan in it
I think they could have done so much more with her character, but they chose the tropey route. Khatan should be a very complex character, but I didn't emphasize with her story. Maybe it's also her acting. The Khan is a jerk, but I actually felt sorry for him near the end.
That was a very powerful scene. Considering he is only 21, I was impressed with all the complex emotions he was able to convey. Having lost a parent unexpectedly, I felt his pain, anger, regret, guilt.
I was also impressed with the actor who played LSM. I only knew he was a "good guy" because my mom is a history buff, but he was able to show the different shades of his character.
This very convincing and beautiful performance by Rosy Zhao...I wish she was at this level in “Love of Thousand…
For actors to grow, they need to work with different people and try different types of roles, especially roles they are uncomfortable with. It would be interesting to see what type of projects the four leads will take on after TLB.
She was a 15 year old tomboy who doesn't even know what love is even a boy showed her affection like Shuyu did…
I've finished the drama and rewatched certain sections quite a few times. It's quite addicting and my Mandarin definitely improved the past month! However, I still feel that CG's love has more of a"bromance" than romance feel, whereas AS is definitely romance. Leo nailed the shy, love sick look:)

True. Her parents were not the best role models for a loving relationship. Both her respected mentor or childhood friend betrayed her. Her heart was very guarded and it took until ep 26 for her to realize that she cared about him, but I'm not quite convinced that she feels pure romantic love towards AS. AS for sure is very attracted to CG!
Esther, I read your comments and all the exchanges with the others before I make mine. So that I will not jump…
Excellent analysis! I think most of the Eagle Division didn't respect the Khan and felt helpless following his reckless, dishonourable assassination attempt. CG's actions saved a lot of lives from both sides.
It took Alir's death for AS to do what he truly believed and protect who he wanted to protect. Her sacrifice and love freed him.
If you don't get bored of reading long things, I want to say a few words :) First of all I could not understand…
This is an excellent post! I was also very frustrated with CG's impulsiveness, but I believed that she didn't totally trust Sun wholeheartedly yet. As the leader of the Eagle Division, he is still considered "the enemy"of Tang and ultimately, her heart at this time was not to be in the grasslands. After ep 25, she then realized that her method is not always right and she needed to look at the broader picture.
Sorry to say, I think you haven't completed the drama, somehow I understand your frustration mostly from ep 20_26.…
I do understand your frustration. Ep 25-26 are very hard to watch because we can see the intense pain that CG's unintentional actions caused for Sun. Ep 26 is the turning point for both leads: CG begins to think more about consequences and Sun is more gutsy.
Does anyone else feel that CG only started falling for Sun because of guilt? Up to ep 18, she still thought that Sun was keeping her secret cuz she thought she was useful to him (convo with Mimi). Sun, though, fell for her even before realizing CG was a girl; he respected "him" and paid extra attention to "him". After ep 5, he was a goner! CG didn't show much admiration or appreciation for Sun until after ep 25.
