Love your candor and wholeheartedly agree with your review. I like the development of HZJ and wished that all the other nasty girls and moms are not so one dimensional. There are too many of them and it's a bit tiring that the FL needs to be rescued all the time from these awful characters. I'm really hoping that the ML's story is more developed in part 2. The ML and FL need more screen time for me to be convinced of their romance. I am enjoying the comic relief.

Seems like there are more catfights before we get to the crux of the story. The media really needs to stop perpetuating these stereotypes.

The drama is addicting and there are lots of comical scenes. I really like the emperor and a few of the other side characters. There are, unfortunately, a lot of toxic female characters who take up too much screen time - I fast forward through those scenes.

I always like reading your reviews, and I agree with your fair assessment of part 1. From watching the trailers, I have high hopes for part 2. I'm not crazy about how most of the female secondary characters are portrayed so far. The toxicity is too much. I'm hoping that there will be more action and we see more character development, especially with the ML.

I love your analysis. I think HZ will start to treat LY well because she understands why this marriage is her father's last wish. CSS also understands that HZ will have enough power to give LY a better life under her protection. That could be another reason why she's going to finally back out of this engagement.

I agree with you. At this moment in her life, he is the right person for her. Most of us have gone through life with multiple partners. We have different requirements during different stages of our life. They both bring the best out of each other.

I confess that I have trouble moving on after watching this awesome couple. My favourite was when he was waiting for her at the end of the procession. He looked so happy to see her. I liked how his brother told him to snap out of it. Very cute!

Ha! I got my mom hooked too. It's one of her favourites now and she watches A LOT of dramas.

Thank you for your review. I always appreciate what you have to say about a drama and look forward to reading your thoughts. Although the storytelling and pacing was a bit inconsistent, I was thoroughly entertained, and my mom was as well. I was really impressed with YY's acting in this one. I've only watched Love o2o where he didn't have to act much and just had to look good and parts of YYMG (couldn't quite get into the story, but I might give it a try again).

I loved how proud and happy everyone, especially FQW and FC, looked.

I was expecting her to go to the cold palace cuz it seemed like the king genuinely did love Baili. I don't think the punishment would have been as harsh if FC didn't go on his cathartic rant. LX has always been super cautious around his dad, so I agree with you that he was being strategic as well.

Despite the angst, I actually enjoyed today's episodes because HFX/BFX are growing closer through these trials and tribulations. The superficial side of me got to admire HFX with his hair down. Yang Yang also delivered an outstanding performance!

My prediction is either the eunuch, who I feel is on HFX's side, switched out the wine or the dad isn't as shortsighted as we think he is and is just testing him with some other wine. He should realize now that HFX is the only one who has the brains to "rule the world". If he really wants HFX to compete with the other princes for the marriage selection, he cannot handicap his son like that.
