Agree on all. I was one of those who criticized the format right away cause I know my k-writers and their fillers. The story was good on the "family" elements and for Lee Do Hyun acting. I even like the whole school-romance drama. But all the other characters, sub-plots, trope, and clichè were a giant filler that made the watching very boring. It has its great moments, but overall is skippable.
I think they could have exploit more the romance theme, they have great chemistry despite being together for so little time. I like the action and the complex con-artists plot, they are basically all small fishes who end up in a plot bigger than them. Unfortunately the editing is ruining the storytelling.
It started as a strong makjang with a lot of potential, but end up being a normal melodrama. Very draggy in the long run cause the genres were not well distributed along the 16 ep. I personally end up losing interest for the story and following it more for the cast. But for being a Channel A production it was quite good in its overall. I would suggest this to those who like melodrama, family, romance and a bit of angst.

I like the flashback as “idea” to tuned down the vibe, mixing suspense and comedy. BUT I think they are too randomly placed and very confusing, maybe a different editing would have been better.
I'm not getting the whole "I grew up in a con family" but keeps getting conned herself AND can suggest working…
I was hoping for revenge, If she wanted to find him for having her revenge it would be okay. But now she is willing to team up with her former enemy to find out what happened to a man she barely knew. The plot can go shit really fast with this premiere. I hope she will find out soon that he is alive and we will have some angst, cause if it keeps going on like this it will be a normal team-bond con artist against bigger powers. I am loving the acting tho.
Ok, I admit that they had balls in focusing the 1st episode all on one character’s background and development. BUT they didn’t explain the fraud properly and felt rushed. Probably it was intentionally to show that she wasn’t ready yet to take her down. Overall they got my attention despite my allergies to con-artist teamwork.
Great review as always! Back at the time I had problems following the drama with English subs, now I am scared to watch this one lol Poor my brain it will definitely be a challenge.
