I did not like the original version that much but Kimura's role did left a big impression on me! For this reason when they annouced this remake, with such a great cast, my hype was huge. Unfortunately the remake did not came out as strong as I was expecting. The director invested to much effort on a romantic relationship when the main concept of the original was well known for being really dark. A lot of viewers were deceived into hoping for some kind of light at the end of the tunnel, when the genre of this drama state this: Thriller, Mystery, Romance, Drama, Melodrama, Tragedy
If you make a remake out of a dark tragedy you must have the "balls" to stick with the concept instead of trying to sell off a romantic melodrama to catch viewers! As always IMHO.
I am half way through episode 1 and it is really disappointing, the overall quality seems very poor. The emperor and mama queen are so fake that even a kid can realize that they are not what they want to appear. I will stick around cause I want to know how the flashback will be connect to the present day. Sunny is too much naive for my taste but I guess it was necessary to explain how she stupidly fall for the king.
Good news! the indonesian sub is already out & I heard there're some fans who are still working translating them…
LOL I swear I am not stalking you. I had this drama on my plan to watch list and I was checking if there were news! I am really trying to find a romance com to watch, I basically watched or drop every new k-drama :( Guess I will wait for the fansub, thanks for the update.

In the last period I have watched to many melodrama, I need to detox. I was hoping in a new romance comedy, maybe something on netflix. If you are brave you could try third charm LOL it was a pain in the ass as a melodrama. See you around !
I also like the k-drama more than the origianl because I am more incline to melodrama rather than extremely dark…
Well is not like I can argue a good point. I just got a different feeling about the direction decisions. And I still had high expectation though, it will definitely not be one of my favorite kdrama. Out of curiosity What are you going to watch after?
My fav melodrama has come to an end.No matter what ppl said, I prefer the Korean remake here more than the original. Why?…
I also like the k-drama more than the origianl because I am more incline to melodrama rather than extremely dark theme. But overall I was expecting something more, if not more darker at least more strong. This theory about love that the director keep selling wasn't appropriete considering that the main concept of the plot require a sad ending. In my opinion they used the romance to pacify and deceive viewers. I do not like when they sell one thing for another. A lof of users still hope in the happy ending, while the plot should take them and prepare them for the sad ending. If this is not cheating to keep the viewers close I do not know what it is.
what is the meaning behind the drama title? One Million Stars Falling from the Sky/The Smile has left your eyes
In the in Korean version the title seems more appropriate with the plot, sometimes you can show your happiness or sadness with your eyes, and the main lead does have this sad vibe. But for the jap version I don't know why they choose that title, and I don't remember if there is a quote inside the plot about it.
I do not remeber who suggest this drama to me but first 4 episodes were great, now I hope it will not became a…
Ok I am at ep. 10 and I have to admit that the plot missed to explain a lot of details whereas the previews are full of huge spoilers and each episode start also with spoiler. But in the complex is much better then other draggy revange dramas, the plot is not slow, you learn something each episodes and there is action. The cast is great, I ship for the cop LOL. The only disappointment is that Ki San is a supportive role when the entire plot is basically there because of him. I was expecting a stronger villain instead of a mere supportive role who boss around other ppl.
What I do not like is that they gave to much importance to the romance and now most of the viewers hope for an happy ending forgetting that this is a remake of a real dark tragic j-drama. I am sorry but just because there is a cute couple you can’t pretend that the drama became a pure romance. I think it was a mistake to deceive viewers like that, they should have tune it down the romance through the entire drama. I really hope they will have the “balls” to end it accordingly to the original.
Ok I get that people want them to stick to the original ending because it pushes the envelope and "we can't always…
The point is that finding an happy ending at all cost will ruin the main concept of the drama, as much as you don’t like it, this is a remake after all, they should respect the main plot at least. That’s why I didn’t like how they give so much screen time and importance to the romance, because now most of the viewers want to transform this into a romance with an happy ending.
I really like the acting but the plot is meh, In my opinion they try to create a light remake but at some point realize they need to add the darkness of the original and the mix didn’t turn out that good. I didn’t like that they give so much screen time to the romance, and I find their dialogue as a couple boring. BUT the truth is that knowing the original plot I can’t feel the same emotions and chemistry that everyone else feels for this couple. Sadly I can’t enjoy the drama as much as I would like.
I do not remeber who suggest this drama to me but first 4 episodes were great, now I hope it will not became a draggy mess as usually happens with revange drama.
I like how the plot is moving forward step by step, nor fast nor draggy.
I hope we will get 10 episode about their coming out as a couple, 10 episode about the birth secret (mr. Kang and Do Ra get to know each other) Then 10 episode about Mr. Kang being the murder and to wrap things up. The main couple will suffer a lot. What do you think?
Don't be fooled by the nice poster! What looked like a romance comedy turn out to be a very dark and depressing romance. The concept of the drama is not bad but the plot and the time splits are really badly executed. What is worse is that viewers had the right to know the genre of a drama BEFORE starting it, not after 10 episodes into it!
For once in a while the female and male's roles are inverted. A nerdy boy extremely emotional and a woman as strong as stubborn fall in love and started a back and forth relationship. At first the concept was good and intereasting, I was hoping to see them overcome their differences and have a bit of characters development, but the realism of their relationship became an endless melodrama. Over a period of 7 years we are forced to watch the two of them making the same mistakes just because they are too much stubborn to talk to each others. After that there is another time slip and a huge twist plot where everything became really sad and tragic, the realistic plot is totally ruined because the writer is forcing a relationship that "non s'ha da fare" (quote from The Betrothed by Manzoni "this marriage is not to take place").
Unless you love dark and depressing romance stay away of this trash.
This drama turn out to be really bad, too many characters and subplots. The whole story is a mess and even if the title is “bad papa”, I was hoping in some kind of character development but he keep making the same mistakes, at first they were poor and he was trying to provide for his family, but now what he is trying to prove or give to her daughter? That winning with dopping is cool? I do not get the whole point, why it doesn’t stop fighting if not for the sake of the plot? There are not good reason and motive to explain his behavior. With only 4 episode left the plot seems far away from wrapping up. Looks like they write the scrip without thinking at all at the whole picture.

The original does have a dark tragic end after all.
