There are only 4 episode out, it’s a bit early to give an opinion but I’m liking this one more than wok of love. They both have a great cast but the plot here is better.

I have always love HJE but I admit that she became a bit boring with all this “silly girl” roles and scream. I would like to see her again in a project like secret love.

Same here but even after watching 13 eps
I expressed the same doubt in my comment and I’m at ep. 16

I love the cast and the acting, I like all characters, they are weirdo but funny.

But the main plot is missing, it’s like one of those comic movie, they are fun but nothing more. We do have some hint here and there just to justify all the mess, but most scenes are put together just to create comedy or romance moments between characters.

It’s not a bad drama if you watch it only to have fun, but the story is a mess.

This is just my take on it, but I don't necessarily think they love each other yet. I think the romance will grow…
I like your theory, it makes more sense.

I think City Hunter was really really good. Especially when it came out at the time. Sure, the romance could be…
Totally agree with @AnicsiRoscoe.

I'm the only one who think the romance between the main lead is moving to fast? Did I miss something? Some kind of childhood love?

So far I don't know what that plot is !!can someone please enlighten me ?
Rich girl lose everything she has, poor boy chef lose everything he has, they both get involve with a gangster who run a restaurant and a shark money company. But all this happen in the first 4 ep. And in a very comical way. To me is strange cause I can't understeand how the plot can evolve from here.

Loved the acting, the medical crew and the soundtrack.
The plot evolve around realistic day-life stuff but it was nor to sad nor to comedy, very well balanced.

After love rain I didn't like any of Jang Geun Suk project so I'm a bit skeptical to start this one.
On Something in the Rain May 16, 2018
I loved the first part of this drama, the falling is love was very emotional. I love the music, they use it in a very good way and the song were all good and appropriate. BUT once the secret is out the plot became just sad and a bit boring, they face too many problem considering the story is set in our time and the age gap is not such a problem anymore, beside the side-story (problem in the office work) was really out of plot, like they didn't know what to do with the rest of the cast.

The "wok-gang" is hilarious, hope their chemistry will last till the end. But The plot is very strange.

First episode was boring, draggy and messy. I couldn't figure out what the main topic is.
Dropped, I think the plot will be very weak and it will evolve only around the cliche of rich boy who mistreat the girl.

I watch almost only k-drama so my comment is limited to them.

I'm glad they evolved into something more real. Finally we have many more topics covered and the authors are no longer afraid of dealing with difficult topics.

There are characters closer to everyday life and the plots are more complex and less predictable. Even the technical part like sets, costumes, music, etc. have also improved.

BUT if my brain crave for strong and independent female protagonists and realistic men, my heart, sometimes act as a teenager when love-plot are involved. So, once in a while I end up in a old cliches mode and still enjoy drama full of wrist grabbing, arm on the shoulder and force kisses.

What I never had stand and I never will is the poor, innocent and mistreated girl. As much as I recall with sympaty the rich hothead male leads, evil moms, birth secrets, etc.... I never loved any of those submissive poor girl/woman.

You have no idea how much I would love to see a character as Gu Jun-pyo from BOF versus a character as Choi Ae Ra from FFMW. I think it would be very hilarious.

Great article by the way !!!

Probably I'm the only one who is watching and loving this drama not for the poetry part =P

OMG I loved your article, some of the pictures are so funny and well-aimed, while reading I realize how true what you wrote is. As you said, I also started watching drama for fun and relaxing but sometimes it feels more like a work because I didn't want to miss any of them.
But if you haven't started them yet it really means you weren't intrested enough.
So I check out my lists and clean up a lot! Thx, now I feel less guilty.

I just want to add one suggestion, sometimes I pick up old drama that I had previously ignored and now are among my favorites, so rather than continue adding in the "plan to watch" list I think it's more useful, when you're in the mood, to pass the list of old darma and start immediately what you find interesting .

Hi, first of all congratulations for your first article!
I loved descendat of the sun but I hated the other two k-drama you mentioned !
I think they became famous only because both couple were cute and super sweet, but their plot weren't good.
While descendant of the sun has a good plot and two great love story.

I love how the plot can jump between hilarious and serious in a heart beat. For now (I'm at ep.9) is very well written and acted.
