When Life Gives You Onions, Keep Cutting...
One of the most beautiful and healing SoLs since My Liberation Notes!
So much was relatable, and so much made me cry and cry, especially the final three episodes. The finding oneself again when knocked down by life. The beautiful characters- grandma's warmth, and Hosu's mom(Kim Sun-young) is the greatest. I adored Se-jin and Tae-yi. I loved how the love triangle's a beautiful friendship. The star-crossed poem that was Kim Ro-sa. The genuine way the drama embraced so many things. Even the "bad guys" remain very human despite them seeming 1D. Ho-su's mentor is a one-of-a-kind sort of chara hard to pin down. There are caricatures and tropes and some degree of suspending disbelief and all, but there is also something that strays from the expected in a good way. Some things could have gone on for longer till a 16th episode but the length was perfect. It felt ideal.
I didn't want to watch the last episode because then it would endðŸ˜. "Driving Alone at Night..." is still playing in my mind... I don't think I'll be able to let go anytime soon. There is so much in every episode- those quotes will be immortal!
"Yesterday is over. Tomorrow is yet to come. Today is yet unknown. Let's go!"
