Don't say AoS is mediocre since you have never watched it. I liked both equally though TU is a notch up.

You won't be bothers by the absense of romance after you get completely immersed in the story.
I was once like you, I didn't watch dramas with no romance. But TU changed my perception of non-romantic dramas.

First of all c-dramas are not 'shoddily' made. And the writers of this article are not 'butthurt c-drama fans' since they have watched both k and c-dramas in almost the same amout.

I agree that some c-dramas are indeed bad but, some k-dramas are bad as well. Can you argue that k-dramas are all gold? Also, form your watch list, I understand that you haven't yet completed at least one c-drama. C-dramas tend to be slow or boring in the starting episodes and gets better as it goes on.So, you'll never know if you will like a c-drama from the first episodes.

Never judge everything on the same basis. Both c and k-dramas have both pros and cons. While k-dramas are better in some genres like thriller, melodrama, etc. c-dramas are better in historical in xianxias. Appreciate them for what it is.

You can totally watch this drama without being bothered since this is a censored BL. The fans who want this to be BL can imagine and those who don't want can ignore. Overall, it's just bromance and no romance. It's not even in it's list of genres.

Wow, I finished this in a blink of eye! I can't believe I sat in front of the screen for 8 hours staright! It's truely wonderful! This is certainly the best survival as well as the best j-drama I have seen to date.

I don't know why people are comaparing this with SG coz they are two completely different dramas. But if I compare these two in the sense of survival games, AIB is so much better. Please don't come to argue with me on this point, y'all. This is just me stating my opinion. I rated SG 6.5 and this 9, afterall!
