i think people have forgotten all that Hyun Ji has been through so far, all that has happened to her mother, and…
Selfish may be a strong word, but her actions weren’t the kindest. She wanted to keep her word to the housekeeper But she didn’t do the same for Jenny, she could had ask Jenny to help the housekeeper without making it a condition. Also the housekeeper deserves punishment for her involvement in switching the meds but she gotten away Scott free. I agree no suffering should be overlook but we shouldn’t compare apples to oranges.

No one said she was useless but rather that she isn’t relevant to Jenny revenge story. If they got rid of her, her mom, the lady friend and her son, it wouldn’t change Jenny story much l, there isn’t a big impact. Yeah Jenny can kinda relate to hj but it isn’t integral to the story.

i personally think the drama version is much better than original manhwa because the drama casts are hard carrying…
You right you right, every case is different And it depends on each person haha I abhor reading the lord of the rings series but the movies were wonderful lol

Haha every human sure is designed differently. I watched several episodes of melo and I really like it too. I really recommend dazzling! That one made the heart in my heart weep. The big twist at the end was so poignant and so clever.

Not by a mile did hj went through what Jenny went through. She is not a kid or a teen, she’s a young woman who may or may not have lost her mom. This all happened in like a month. Jenny suffered since she was a young girl. Abuse, lost her mom and brother, toss in dump yard. More abuse and more abuse. People scheme against her from girlhood to womenhood. She can’t catch a break.

She’s so selfish where she was willing to protect the housekeeper who committed a crime and allow Jenny who was innocent to take the fall. They made a deal and then she went back on her word and added an extra condition that she must save the housekeeper or she won’t get the video confession. And then hj committed stupidity and made Jenny risk her life to rescue her and also she had to trade in the confession video.

Watching something live is generally more exciting than reading it haha I like the characterization better in the webtoon than the drama and I didn’t like how they switch out some of the scenes. And I didn’t like how they made the sml such a huge jerk in the drama. Drama dan oh is sometimes too loud And too over the top for me, I don’t like loud characters lol

Ah I see haha I always feel like I need to escape from life, so supernatural theme shows like goblin, master sun, and hotel del Luna, I eat them up as my daily vitamin C pill Haha

It makes some sense in what the writers are doing. She was more seen as more of an extra in the webtoon rather than a side character in the drama. She’s the main lead so of course they’ll give her more material to work on in the drama haha

Since the webtoon isn’t over, I am intrigue to see what they will do.

Having second lead syndrome is killing me. I hope they tone down his anger and violence in the show haha

Even if we have different ships, I just can’t help but feel sorry for Jenny. It seems like people in general don’t really sympathize with her and like jh more just because they rather ship her with Sunwoo and they will come up with reasons to make Jenny look bad. I may be wrong but that’s how I see it. Truthfully I think Sunwoo and HJ look better together visual wise but I had to wrestle with myself and tell myself not to be that kind of person and analyze each character separately.

I’m glad you found your ray of sunlight ^^ I hope to find mine in a drama, preferably in real life. I would like a Sunwoo haha

I see what you are saying haha but I’m not sure she’s beyond saving from getting lost in the revenge business. If she was, she wouldn’t care to save and help the people around her and comfort them. Her caring human side is still there

That might be the case, I’m not too surprised by what happens, so I pay attention to the differences more haha. Hyping can be a double edge sword for sure. I watched hotel del Luna after watching a music video and had little expectations and I loved it so much because it was like a slice of life, healing human drama although most were ghosts lol I really care for what happens to almost every single character and hotel guests. But I agree that there wasn’t much plot but I liked it that way because once again it felt like chicken soup for the soul, where each episode, a guest/hotel staff story takes over most of the episode. But you’re right everyone is wired differently and can have varying opinions haha

I just wish extraordinary you the drama made me root for the characters more, the spunky drama version of Dan oh kind of takes away the feels that I had for the More melancholic webtoon Dan oh. but I still do care for the drama Dan oh.

Episode 5 is showing more signs of it slowing down. It is becoming the thing it satires and poke fun at. It's creating some dramatic moments just for the sake of it. they're making second male lead a huge jerk almost to the point of no redemption. I guess because it's hard to make a 16 episode from a short webtoon (it's still ongoing) I know I shouldnt compare but I can't help but compare it to the webtoon. I feel like the characters were more flesh out there. I was really excited to watch this show because people were hyping it up like it's the best drama ever, best drama of the year. in my opinion it holds no candle to the hotel del luna, dazzling, fiery priest. I'm still going to keep watching it because my weds/thurs are empty and I like some of the actors but I hope I wont roll my eyes too much in the coming weeks.

uh what did Jenny done that needs redemption? she's not an evil character that drags down sunwoo. Jenny was the ray of light for sunwoo when they were both growing up. She protected him so much. She fed and clothe him when they reunited in the bathhouse. don't try to make jenny an evil character, a person who is too broken, so that your ship can sail.

That logical doesn't make sense. Why can't broken people be with other broken people? Sunwoo and jenny are day and night different. Sunwoo has suffered but not the extent of Jenny. he's not after revenge, he can be the one to cheer her in her gloomy life.

a lot of ppl are saying that hyun ji only exists for a love interest for sun woo but did yall forget how important…
HJ is not the deal breaker. Jenny could and would had found others ways to achieve her goals. Actually HJ screwed up Jenny plans at least twice in a big way. the doctor and getting kidnapped. Jenny had to endanger herself to save HJ life and lost the video that would had found her innocent.
Unpopular Opinion: Jenny should be sunwoo but most people dont support it because of ageism. If the actress who played HJ played the role of Jenny, they would had ship her with Sunwoo. And why do people have to say that it's unhealthy for sunwoo to be with Jenny? Why? Don't broken people like Jenny deserve love too? Should she be alone for the rest of her life? Isn't it because people find Sunwoo too attractive to be with Jenny?

The last two episodes were a bit disappointing tbh. I'm always expecting the inevitable same old tired romance…
I do not think it was out of no where, it was already brewing slowly. I like the pace of this show, I hate when they drag out the romance and at least one of them would deny feelings all the time.

Title The Tale of Nokdu Spoiler
do we actually need strong character development for dong joo? I already love her the way she is. She faced her…
I don’t think we are watching the same show lol she ain’t just “strolling around” lol she’s not a damsel in distress character. Ep 1: she tried to kill the king and boldly Cut her hair to protect a young girl and her mother figure. Ep 2: she and nokdu Develops a friendship. Ep 3: she saves nokdu several times from getting caught with her quick thinking (ex. Jumping in the river) and boldly facing on the pervert with intentions of killing him with her hidden knife). She’s training to be a Gisaeng. Ep 4 she encounters her past by going to her old home, she builds a weapon to help nokdu with his mission, and saved his butt again by switching clothes with him. Ep 5 she explores her feelings in nokdu.

She’s doing plenty rather than just sitting pretty. But you’re entitled to your opinion.

Overcoming the past, that’s pretty good character development in itself and it isn’t over. She will soon have to learn to give up revenge and let go of the past to embrace the future.
