do we actually need strong character development for dong joo? I already love her the way she is. She faced her…
Replaceable... that’s a strong word. She’s a really central character and a strong character. Just because they don’t progress much in growth Like character wise it doesn’t negate what they bring to the table. You can argue the same with nokdu character, has he grown dramatically? Both characters ground each other and complements each other well. They’re people that help each other by using their strengths and compassion.
I know Korea is a superficial country and dramas are even more so, but you would think in 2019 they could finally…
Also another touching scene was in episode 3/4, one of the virtuous women Corp thought she finally understood why nokdu was supposedly shy in joining them for a swim, she thought that she had small chest just like her. She then encouraged her by saying that “it’s not about the size, the heart is what is important. So own it.”That’s female empowerment and that was a lovely scene.

That’s not the case at all. He was afraid of them killing him. He was traumatized when they beat him up the first day he entered And was fearful if he got caught for the second time. He saw the dead or passed out guy on the tallest lady shoulder. That would make anyone afraid. That’s why he didn’t want to live with them. He also made a comment to DJ that he didn’t want to share rooms with her but he was resigned to because in his mind, it was better than living with those women Corp villagers where his life is more in danger. Calculated risk.
I replayed first episode, when was there a male character present besides nokdu saying things about broad shoulders at the lake? No male is allowed there. You’re reading too much in how they dress at the lake. It’s just innocence.
And again you’re reading too much into it. This is a show where it is primarily female characters, girls supporting girls. There has been no fat shaming or fat jokes at all. And the titular female character acting all tomboy for example could had been shamed for her “unladylike” manners but no she is mostly universally loved by the villagers and the giasengs.
I dropped this one for a different reason. I couldn't feel the leads chemistry so when they played out the cliche…
Hahahaha you’re so right! Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll give it a try for sure! That’s what I did after watching the joker movie over the weekend, it was so depressing and dark, so I watched some fun videos on YouTube afterwards haha

Haha most definitely! For me it is like fun light ride at Disneyland lol I was considering watching my country as well but I’m not sure if I can handle heavy drama but it seems so intriguing haha
Generally the Hong sisters don’t have a good record. What won me over mostly are the stories of all the guests and the hotel staff, some are so heartbreaking and whenever their story gets a closure, it gives me a bittersweet smile :)

Hahahaha I totally understand. Maybe for the time being, just watch music videos or clips of it on YouTube for the next several episodes and then maybe if you still feel the same, move on rather than watching entire episodes because time is precious Hahaha the music videos of hotel del Luna convinced me to watch the show in it’s entirety hahaha

I don’t think any viewer is suppose to feel chemistry that early on because they just met and not only that, they first met when she’s cross dressed as boy. So I would find it strange to feel sparks. But if you watch the latter half of episode 1 and episode 2, you can start seeing the chemistry brewing. I recommend you to finish ep 1 haha
Hey hater with no taste don't watch the drama if you don't like the QUEEN of acting KIM SO HYUN. Get lost nobody…
I love Kim so Hyun and I think she’s a wonderful actress but I think @zanearaki can have the opinion of liking certain dramas or not. And their opinion is constructive criticism. Unless your comment is actually for the original poster Katherine because she’s nonsense and just a hater. There’s not such thing as perfect acting but her acting is divine for sure!
Argh why Kim So Hyun.. I can't stand her acting is the same in everything.. she like the Kristen Stewart of Korea…
LOL what a funny joke. When has she ever played a tomboy character? The first time is this show. You can’t tell us that her acting is the same in love alarm as it is in tales of nokdu. They are like night and day different. I may be wrong but it seems like from your comments, you haven’t even watched this show. Watch this show and watch love alarm and come back and tell us you still share the same opinion.
Even watching ruler and tales of nokdu, her characters portrayal are so so different.
Better than I thought it would be! Beautiful characters and awesome cast! The female villagers are a hoot! So Hyun & Jang Dong Yoon! You guys won my heart with your characters and spirit!

I concur with you on Master Sun haha
