I don't understand how they could NOT know Kay is Soo Hyun.
As far as they know did Soo Hyun have a twin?
How can 2 unrelated persons look exactly the same? #smh
A few absurdities, having trouble suspending my belief, but I'm still watching.

What happened? Did you talk to the mod? What a ridiculous rule! #smdh
As for Dog & Wolf, your rather cryptic post leaves a feeling of unease in the pit of my stomach. Why wouldn't I like it? This features all my favourite genres, crime/drama/romance. I've already been told that it has a happy ending & while everyone warns me the female lead is annoying, I've had no negative reaction to her as of yet. I'm expecting to like this even though it's a bit cliche. My only concern is that no one I become attached to dies.

Hold off telling your story for the time being. I didn't feel like I had anything new - that would move the discussion forward - to impart so that's why I said the last post was my closing arguments, but I'll read what you have to say & respond. BTW, the same thought crossed my mind as we discussed, that you see the negative about him & I see the positive, but that we both acknowledge there can be some interchangeability in his behaviour.
Anyway, in short, simplistic form, this is how I sum up the 3 players:
Min Jæ - bad (psychopathic tendencies, he is always numero uno no matter the circumstances, selfish & without a conscience, no empathy).
Tæ Joo - grey (can be good or bad depending on the circumstances, from where I sat he tried to be good most of the time).
Seo Yoon - good (in terms of what is socially accepted as good behaviour/morals. Consequently this puts her in bad position to chair the empire).
There are also 2 other areas on which our opinions may differ:
1) I judge TJ in the context of the business world, which is a lot more corruption than people realize, esp on the level TJ & the Chois are playing. I saw no evidence to suggest TJ generally had homicidal tendencies or would be a menace to civilian society. That's why I have always rejected the comparison to Hitler as nothing but hyperbole.
2) I see TJ authorizing the demolition separate from his other dubious behaviours. Like I've already said I thought it was an intense emotional reaction fueled by temporary insanity. In his right mind TJ would not hurt innocent people. I know you don't agree, but I think the writers, perhaps unintentionally, presented us with enough fodder to arrive at this conclusion.
More to come on discussion thread. It's a bit restrictive discussing on the wall!

Aigoo ... now you've made me seriously curious about TBD&W when I HAVE to work! :) How am I going to build a Golden Empire when drama has overtaken my life, huh? LOL
Keep checking the feeds, if you can. I usually post some thoughts there as I watch. So far I haven't seen anything too makjang. Soo Hyun losing his memory isn't too far-fetched given how many blows he's suffered to the head so I'm giving them a pass as far as the amnesia is concerned. My only hope is that it doesn't drag out too long and compromise the story.

Cool, let me know when you want to have a go at Hanzawa. A lot of time mood dictates my next selection so if you can give me a few days notice so I can get in the right frame of mind for what I expect to be another strong wind! :) I'll do the same for you.
So far I'm liking Dog & Wolf (btw do you ever check the feeds?). It is rare that I suffer from 2nd male syndrome, but Jung Kyung Ho is so good here. I really like this guy. But of course I'm rooting for Lee Junki, he's our hero after all, but I'm not completely won over by the character or actor yet. I'm loving the hybrid gangster underworld, and getting a glimpse of the Thai mafia. I don't know what it is about me & gangster themed flicks but it's a world that fascinates me. Up to this point (ep 6) I have no complaints, though I'm bracing myself for all the makjang I'm told is coming. So we'll see. I hope the whole damn thing doesn't go downhill.
Re: this matter with TJ, I've acknowledged that you don't see him as evil, but you have said on several occasions that he is a bad person. This differs from my view of him as a pragmatic guy (the demolition notwithstanding) who does what he has to do to survive in a very cutthroat business environment. It's certainly not above his morals to do bad things (bribery, racketeering ... that sort of thing), but is this a default (part of his true nature) or set by the circumstances he finds himself in? Due to this, describing him as wholly one or the other is problematic from my pov. He's neither totally bad nor totally good, he falls somewhere in the middle most of the time & on occasion he gets pulled in one direction more than the other. Anyway, I'll have a look & post a response as soon as I can. But at some point we may just have to agree to disagree! :)

Hey chinguya, posted some closing statements to your last post on the discussion thread! And where have you gone? Come back, woman! :)
I like her because I get the impression that any drama she's in we'll be treated to some really great kisses!…
Oh thank you, missus!
I didn't recognize the one on the right was from Lie to Me, but on closer inspection I see that you're totally right.
I won't watch Goong, but that's a nice looking kiss!

Romantic comedy is not really one of my go-to genres (I prefer romantic drama), but good romantic comedies that I've seen & enjoyed:
Petty Romance
My P.S. Partner
Everything about my Wife
All of the above contain some mature scenes, esp the first 2. Don't know if that's an issue for you. They're funny as heck, though! :)
Always is more of a romantic drama. It's very good & has a happy ending. Love 911 can be classified as romantic melodrama, but also with a happy ending & lots of comedic moments. I think you'll enjoy both.
You're right about THNK. It's poignant & that undercurrent of melancholy remains throughout the drama, BUT it does have a happy ending. Orange Days is all kinds of beautiful and optimistic! I loved it & I'm fairly sure you will too!

By the way, chinguya, have you or are you planning to watch Hanzawa Naoki? Heard it's also another great business drama. I plan to watch it in the near future. If you haven't see it yet maybe we can watch it and go crazy together? :)
I like her because I get the impression that any drama she's in we'll be treated to some really great kisses!
And of course she's cute & a fairly decent actress. Loved her in Lie to Me & Coffee Prince! :)
P.S. What dramas are the 2 bottom stills from under 'Queen of Kdramas Kisses'? They look noice!

The disaster has been all over the news in this country and all the major NGOs have been having coin drives throughout the city to raise money for relief efforts. I also know that in the United States efforts to raise money for the victims are pretty huge. I spoke to my dad who lives in New York and he says there's comment on the catastrophe and how people can help on every segment of the news. There's even been a one click donate button on my facebook. So yeah, it's pretty known and people seem to be really interested in helping.
It's good. That's what humanity is about.
I finished Golden Empire about 2 mths ago and I loved it. A very thought provoking drama with some of the best acting I've ever seen anywhere.
Right now I'm watching Time between Dog & Wolf. Still too early to make a comment on it.

I like watching older dramas so I might have a look at Bean Chaff. I've had a good spin with Japanese dramas ca 1997 and onward to the early 2000s, but I must say I've been a little sceptical of the Korean equivalents. I keep thinking if I find most kdramas of today so annoying how much more so will they have been a decade or more ago? So I've avoided taking the plunge ...
Do let me know how you like Lovers if you ever get around to checking it out! :)
I love recruiting people to the Lovers fan club because as usual most of the best dramas are totally underrated on this site! :)
I'm watching Time between Dog & Wolf now. It's good to finally meet Junki Lee so I can see what all the fuss is about. He is indeed very cute! Now let's see if he can act! :)

I'm well. A little stressed and overworked as usual, but surviving! :)
Thank you so much for offering to do the collage for me! Let me think about my favourites and get back to you.
I think we may have talked about Kim Ki-duk before but I've forgotten since we haven't spoken in a while. Anyway, I totally agree with you, he's amazing! I personally LOVED 3-Iron. I didn't miss the dialogue at all. In fact I thought that was the movie's best feature, that you could follow the story without any dialogue at all. Recently I downloaded a few of his earlier films - Birdcage Inn & Bad Guy. Bad Guy was alright but not his best, imo. What's your favourite film from him?
It's amazing that you can watch a kdrama without subs! I've tried & I understood less than 5% haha. But I'm serious about learning the Korean language. Just wish I had the time and energy to study! :)
I'm watching Time between Dog & Wolf now. Have you seen it?

Well, I see you have Orange Days (one of the best!) and Tatta Hitotsu no Koi on your currently watching list. Those are very popular romances, though I personally love Orange Days far more than Tatta. There's no doubt in my mind that it's the better drama.
On your ptw list I also don't see Lovers, City Hall, A Gentleman's Dignity, Aishiteru to Ikketure, Pride (well, this one is on there) and MARS, just to name a few. If you're a romance fan you have got to check these out! :)
There's also the movie Always which stars the ever popular (though not a big fav of mine) So Ji Sub & Love 911 which stars a really handsome & amazing actor named Go Soo. Han Hyo Joo is the female lead in both & she's great. I really like her.
