I am someone who has zero patience for ongoing shows and have so far only watched random clips of this drama circulating on YouTube. I am curious about one thing though - the story is set in 1980, was it progressive back then in Hong Kong to accept queer people? Because from what I assumed from the clips I watched Chu San doesn't seem to doubt his attraction toward Liu Yi(you know staring at Liu Yi's butts) unlike many dramas. And I learned from novel readers that Liu Yi liked his brother-in-law and vice-versa, so I wanted to know if the country was liberal towards same-sex relationships? If so, what was the reason? I would be very happy and grateful if someone could explain it.
