I think every time I watch this, I discover something new.
For instance, take episode 6. When going to the beach, Jae Won is wearing a gray sweatshirt and Ji Hyun is wearing a blue sweatshirt with a white coat. And they sleep on the beach, in those outfits. But next morning, Ji Hyun wakes up wearing Jae Won's sweatshirt. And Jae Won seems to be wearing a different outfit.

As I always say, the only thing holding back China is the censorship. If the laws become lenient, I bet China will become the ultimate BL powerhouse, leaving behind Thailand, Japan and South Korea. China is already great at story, acting, visuals and cinematography so it wouldn't be long for it to take the lead.
BTW, my personal opinion is that China is actually turning a blind eye to all the BLs being produced in their country but disguised to the world because its brings in lots of money. BL industry is booming, lots of people are streaming BLs, paying memberships, funding, etc. Who would say no to money in this economy? WeTV and iQiyi are Chinese companies but they are producing BLs outside China - why would they? And with the BL fans going crazy over BLs within China(ever since Revenged Love became a massive hit), I am pretty sure the government noticed what's happening.
Although the ending was a bit disappointing, I really liked Yoon Ji Ho's character. I could trace similarities of myself in her. This was my first time watching a drama of Jung So Min and she was fabulous. I want to watch more of her works.
I loved Ashes of Love because of only one reason: Run Yu. Luo Yun Xi did a phenomenal job portraying as Run Yu. I know people have different opinions on Run Yu - some consider him as a villain and some regard him as a pitiful soul who made bad decisions and ruined his own life. Whatever the case may be, I personally found Run Yu one of the most memorable characters I have ever come across in my life.

Oh really? I didn't think iQiyi would have such issues, since iQiyi is like one of the dominant companies in Asian entertainment industry, but even then I am sure they do have connections and networks that are interested in partnering with them, so I don't think there would be a lack of budget.

Automation and robots perform manual tasks. Acting, directing and producing dramas falls under creative expression. I don't think we should compare them.
Personally, I favor incredible acting over visuals. Sure, I do like handsome and beautiful people....but if their acting is not great, I would lose interest in them. I also don't like plastic surgeries that are done purely for cosmetic....but I guess I have no say on that matter, and its up to that individual.
And I don't think older actors should be discarded....they can play roles that could suit their age. Its so hard to come by films and shows portraying old age in a realistic manner, they can act in them....and I think if someone loves the film industry they wouldn't just readily agree to give AI their face likeness.
Industrial revolution, automation, IT - the changes that AI brought is quite different imo. Humans are an unique species because of their ability to imagine and create and AI is a threat to it. If AI is doing both physical work and creative work, what's the purpose of humans?
To give an example, think about traditional painters....people who paint on canvas. Digital painting came into picture but traditional painting didn't die, it became more premium and more appreciated. Both traditional paintings and digital paintings are created by humans, though the digital medium is lot more easier, quicker and efficient. And its up to the individual to what medium to choose to paint. But AI is not a medium. When you give a prompt, AI generates a painting. Even if it was a human who gave the prompt, it was an AI who generated it. Lets say a canvas painting takes 8 hours, a digital painting might take 4, but the AI-generated one takes only 5 minutes. And you can't even call it your own creation. I don't know how the market will adjust because AI has given us a very complicated situation.
I understand that individual writers and directors with no financial backing would see AI as a boon, because they can showcase their storytelling to the world without a crew. But I find it very ridiculous when big companies like iQiyi starts producing AI dramas.....when they have ample budget to afford a drama with real actors. Already unemployment is on peak and now AI is kicking out more people in the entertainment industry. This is so sad. MDL should stop promoting or writing about AI shows.
