So, when they were all young, Kang Parang kind of had abandonment issues, so he tried not to be alone and always tried to follow every classmate. So, everyone thought he was a weirdo. Siwon realizes that he can't be left alone so she makes up that she likes Parang to justify why they are always seen together. But Sieon also likes Siwon so he starts hating on Parang, but as he can't separate them, he starts being friendly with Parang so that he can keep an eye on Siwon and Parang. And so for a decade both of them keep helping Parang in every way possible. At certain point, Siwon is so used to it that she thinks she really likes Parang. I am someone who has zero patience for ongoing shows and have so far only watched random clips of this drama circulating on YouTube. I am curious about one thing though - the story is set in 1980, was it progressive back then in Hong Kong to accept queer people? Because from what I assumed from the clips I watched Chu San doesn't seem to doubt his attraction toward Liu Yi(you know staring at Liu Yi's butts) unlike many dramas. And I learned from novel readers that Liu Yi liked his brother-in-law and vice-versa, so I wanted to know if the country was liberal towards same-sex relationships? If so, what was the reason? I would be very happy and grateful if someone could explain it.
