I am caught up on the drama. It took me three days to watch ten episodes. Chu Zhao's grandiose promotion to Grand Princess, guardian of Emperor Yu , seems to have gone out the window when she went on her road trip. I don't get the point of her job description, as she is no longer protecting him. She seems to have left Deng Yi and Xie Yan Fang in charge of young Emperor, when she knows they are both disreputable. And Xia Yanlai got suspended from his job as Imperial Guard Commander, whose job is protect young Emperor.

I can understand that the writer and director changed the direction of the plot, and sent Chu Zhao and Xie Yan Lai on a road trip, to break up the palace monotony, but no one is protecting the Emperor, who could be killed by Xiao Xun, Xie Yan Fang or Deng Yi. Some fate cannot be altered.

The young actor is doing a great acting job for nine years' old at time of filming. He projects maturity that older young actors do not project in their roles.

Or even Xie Yan Fang!

Some dubbed voices sound alike in the costume dramas, so it sounds fake. The dub actors are usually the same.

The writers might get paid per word written. 😄😄

I was going to ask if the young boy playing the chess games was Deng Yi's manifestation. The scenes were looking suspicious. Deng Yi is a bit delulu. I am guessing he has no friends. 😵‍💫😵‍💫

He had blond or strawberry blond hair in Long Ballad, and looked quite handsome.

I liked his character in TLB. He didn't have many scenes, but he was entertaining.

Actually, the first drama I watched him in, was The Eternal Love 1. He was the villain. I remember his character was irritating. I don't think I watched the sequel.

There was a recent drama where the book had a happy ending, and the drama had a bad ending. I don't trust these writers adapting novels for TV.

I was thinking the same thing. All four guys look slightly similar that I have to stare closely at them, to identify them. They could play sibling princes in a drama.

It must be 24 episodes. I don't think the producers would spend the big budget on a 10-episode drama.
