XME wanted to shut her up so she could not reveal his background. I thought it was funny that the phone was still working for more than a decade. XME must have been charging the phone every night, for that one instance where the old lady might call the phone number.

Editing is usually where the drama falls down. Some of the Cut, Dice, Slice and Paste scenes de-emphasized the importance of the scene, and stretched the episode.

While XME was chatting away to Qin Huiquan in the mansion, I thought the same thing about Han Dong's ranking in the credits. He should have been #3 main role instead of one of the supporting roles or guest roles. His total screen minutes are even more than Tong Da Wei's. Character Wang Ji Kai doesn't have a big impact on the big picture.

I guess XME needed two episodes to visit Qin and recap his hardships in life to his biological father. Just get to the point, XME! Episode 37 was essentially two scenes spliced and pasted by the editor. It would have been more effective to keep each scene intact, and get it over with.

When Captain He said, "Let me get someone else to talk to you," I had a premonition of Mayor Xu entering the interrogation room to reveal that she is XME's birth mother. LOL That would destroy XEM completely, but I am sure that is not in the gameplan.

I am impressed with young Qin Tian Cheng in ep 38. At the meeting between Huiquan and Prosecutor Team, the dialog about cooperation between private business and government brought to mind the real life situation with Jack Ma and his company, Alibaba. This might have been one of the talking points.
